“When I wrote "In 2020 (Part 1)", back in February, it was basically a personal story about my medical issues and my continued anger and frustration of Trump. When it was written and posted online, none of the major issues that were facing this year had even begun. No pandemic, no riots, no protesting, no confederate flag protests, no Wall Street crashes, no face masks, no self-quarantining and no Trump making all of this much worse. So I had to write a second part of this song, to include everything that happened since I wrote the first part. The music is similar (with a faster tempo and some changes), but different enough to make it an entirely new song”.

La Colonna Sonora è tra le prime musiche di Ennio Morricone, composta dopo le colonne sonore dei primi film di Sergio Leone. Non sono tra le più note o le più eseguite, probabilmente perché indissolubilmente legate ad un film che non concede evasioni di nessun tipo.

La poesia è stata a lungo attribuita a Pablo Neruda. In realtà è della giornalista brasiliana e scrittrice Martha Medeiros.
Martha Medeiros e Ludovico Einaudi parlano alle corde dell’emozione prima che al pensiero, l’una con immagini nude, quotidiane e perciò di una potenza dirompente, l’altro facendo vibrare le corde del pianoforte in sintonia con le immagini e i chiaroscuri dell’animo dell’ascoltatore. Non invadono, non insistono.
Una sollecitazione la si può percepire forte e chiara: chi vuole allontanare gli spettri della guerra non può prescindere da questi messaggi che nella loro semplicità raggiungono gli anfratti dell’Io.

La canzone Zabruje Tako Pjesme Znane e la ex-Jugoslavia

E’ uno dei canti dei partigiani jugoslavi di Tito. Trent’anni dopo la dissoluzione della SFR Jugoslavija sembra che sia svanito nel nulla. Lo avevamo ascoltato negli anni ’80 vicino a Belgrado, lo abbiamo ritrovato. Analizzandolo ci rendiamo conto che chi l’ha composto doveva aver fatto delle buone letture, la vena è poetica. Non ci sono concessioni alla retorica e al trionfalismo, c’è la consapevolezza di donare la propria esistenza per affermare libertà, dignità e diritti nella migliore tradizione partigiana.
Non c’è stato verso purtroppo, nonostante ricerche piuttosto minuziose, di appurare qualcosa sull’autore e sull’anno della composizione.

“Com’è possibile” è un brano che mette l’umanità sul banco degli imputati, citando Bob Dylan “La risposta è lassù / e soffia nell’aria / Quante strade dovrà / di nuovo percorrere / un uomo?”.

Con la regia di Lorenzo Letizia, il video si avvale di immagini di sommosse e catastrofi naturali, per delineare “la bestia” che abita l’uomo, chiudendosi con un riferimento alle recenti proteste in nome di George Floyd (“I Can’t Breathe”) che diventa paradigmatico di una convivenza sempre più complicata dell’uomo con il pianeta terra.
