I never believed that people come to my shows, or rock shows to be told anything.
But I do believe that they come to be reminded of things. To be reminded of who they are, at their most joyous, at their deepest, when life feels full. It's a good place to get in touch with your heart and your spirit, to be amongst the crowd. And to be reminded of who we are and who we can be collectively. Music does those things pretty well sometimes, particularly these days when some reminding of who we are and who we can be isn't such a bad thing.
That weekend of the March for our Lives, we saw those young people in Washington, and citizens all around the world, remind us of what faith in America and real faith in American democracy looks and feels like. It was just encouraging to see all those people... (Continues)

Ha disseppellito la pistola con i vermi (un soldato che non voleva andare a combattere) le prime sere nervose (dopo avere ricevuto la chiamata per l'Iraq). Si ubriacava col gin, per questo il suo respiro non aveva più lo stesso odore e non riusciva a metterlo dentro. Avrebbe dovuto passare dal portico del diavolo (andare a combattere una guerra).

The blast furnace referred to here was called Hopewell Furnace. It was the first one known to be built in Ohio and, therefore, marked the beginning of iron and steel industry in that part of the USA. Nowadays, the furnace is in poor condition and quickly approaching ruin.

Finalmente siamo riusciti a trovare il testo completo e pertanto la inseriamo come canzone a se stante, non essendo una cover della canzone di Springsteen, ne riprende solamente melodia ed arrangiamento
Dalla Valcamonica si partiva per trovare fortuna e guadagnare i soldi per costruirsi una casa. Tra i lavori più diffusi quello del minatore. Spesso si tornava nella "Al de legn", con la veste di legno.

Springsteen used some lyrics from his live adaptation of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Run Through The Jungle in THEY KILLED HIM IN THE STREET. During The River Tour, Bruce Springsteen used the chorus and the three verses (verse 1, verse 2, and verse 3 below) from the original Creedence Clearwater Revival version, and he added two or three more verses that he wrote.
The lyrics "Well last night they pulled him out of his house / And shot him in the street" would later be used in THEY KILLED HIM IN THE STREET ("They took him from his house and killed him in the street") and Bells of San Salvador ("Well they took him from his house / killed him in the street").
RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE was performed at least 3 times during The River Tour (138 dates, October 1980 to September 1981). On this tour, the song was the show opener and was played in a rearranged slower version extended with two or three Springsteen-penned verses.
