Show Them the Way

Show Them the Way
(2020)
Written By Greg Kurstin & Stevie Nicks

Drums - Dave Grohl
Guitar - Dave Stewart

This song was written in 2008 but was only released in 2020.

Stevie Nicks has made her return with a video for her first solo song in six years, “Show Them The Way (feat. Dave Grohl).”

The powerful new protest song sounds like classic Stevie Nicks, and it was co-written with The Bird and the Bee’s Greg Kurstin. Dave Grohl also drums on the track, while Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart plays guitar. The accompanying Cameron Crow-created video comes packed with black-and-white photography of protests from the past and present.

“I hope that this song and its words will be seen as a prayer ~ a prayer for our country ~ a prayer for our world,” Nicks explains.

So Bad

So Bad
(1993)
Album: Revolution Ballroom
Di Nina Hagen, Olle Romö e Dave Stewart

Impareggiabile pezzo post-punk di Nina Hagen. Era il 1993 e il mondo andava così male. Non che le cose siano migliorate, ma continuiamo a ballare la danza di Shiva!
I can be so strong

Take Good Care

Take Good Care
Album: LP1 (2011)
Produced by Dave Stewart

July 2012: Singer-songwriter and actor Joss Stone, war photographer Paul Conroy and musician and producer Dave Stewart are calling on world leaders gathering at the United Nations to deliver an effective Arms Trade Treaty as they launch a new version of the song ‘Take Good Care’.

‘Take Good Care’ was co-written by Paul Conroy – who was seriously injured earlier this year in Homs, Syria – and Joss Stone, and produced by Dave Stewart. The song is being released in support of Amnesty International’s call upon world leaders to deliver an effective and robust international Arms Trade Treaty.

Conroy wrote the song in response to the devastating impact upon people’s lives of armed violence and conflict in Misrata, Libya. He said:

"Having covered armed conflicts up close I have seen the sickening human toll of a world awash in weapons and military... (Continues)

46664

46664
Mandela was imprisoned on Robben Island in 1964, and was the 466th prisoner to arrive that year. The prison administration's scheme of numbering prisoners was to follow the sequence number of the prisoner (466 in his case), with the last two digits of the year (64). The number was imposed on him by the prison for over 25 years, until his release in 1990. "Prisoner 46664" continues to be used as a reverential title for him. Shortly before Joe Strummer's death, he and U2's Bono co-wrote the song 46664 for Mandela as part of the campaign against AIDS in Africa.
