Le Mur était tombé depuis peu et en février 1990, lors d’un concert à Altona, Hambourg (la ville du martyr antifasciste Bruno Tesch et des nombreux autres qui ont été tués par les nazis durant l’été 1932), Wolf Biermann chanta, entre autres, cette belle ballade dédiée à un de ses amis, également martyr du totalitarisme : Robert Havemann.
Robert Havemann (1910-1982) était chimiste. À l’avènement du nazisme, il était déjà chercheur universitaire à l’Institut Kaiser Wilhelm. Pas de chance, Robert Havemann était communiste, et pas seulement cela ; il devint rapidement un membre actif de la Widerstand, la résistance allemande. Arrêté par la Gestapo en 1943, il fut condamné à mort, mais l’exécution de la sentence fut continuellement reportée, grâce à l’intercession de certains de ses anciens collègues qui firent croire... Zinn’s best known for writing A People’s History of the United States. He passed away in 2010, but his ideas still live strong in the hearts and minds of people he continues to inspire through his work.
As he says in a 2005 interview with The G Living Network, he answered the question of whether we can ever have a “just war”:
[…] The technology of warfare has reached a point where war is always the indiscriminate killing of huge numbers of people. And wars, at one time, were fought by armies; soldiers killed soldiers. Vi auguro buone feste con questo villancico, o nadala, insomma una classica canzone di Natale della tradizione catalana come la famosissima El cant dels ocells. Nel loro disco natalizio dell'anno scorso, le stupende e bravissime sorelle Neddermann hanno però inserito una riscrittura particolare, con un'ultima strofa del tutto rivoluzionaria, in cui i pastori del presepe si ribellano ai padroni: "è ora che questa terra finalmente sia dei pastori, la terra è di chi la lavora e non di quelli che si fan chiamare signori!".
Buon Natale in zona rossa a tutti!
