The song deals with the themes of knowledge and the evil that can come from it (studies on the Atom were used for the creation of the nuclear bomb, and so on).
Although the title is a play on ‘Adam and Eve,’ the metaphorical figures from the Christian Bible, this song actually warns of the danger and potential misuse of atomic power. Interestingly, The Golden Gate Quartet also released a song of the same title, written by Hy Zaret and Lou Singer, and expressing similar sentiments in 1947.

Tesfalidet Tesfom, chiamato Segen, era un eritreo nato nel 1996 a Mai-Mne , una regione devastata e resa drammaticamente povera dalla guerra tra Etiopia ed Eritrea tra il 1998 e il 2000. Sbarcò a Pozzallo il 12 marzo 2020, dopo essere stato soccorso dalla nave Proactiva della ong spagnola Open Arms insieme ad altri 92 migranti. Era affetto da polmonite causata da una grave denutrizione e da tubercolosi avanzata contratta nei 18 mesi di prigionia nell’inferno libico di Banī Walīd [بني وليد ]. In questo famigerato campo di detenzione per profughi, a 120 km a sud-ovest di Misurata, le torture, la fame e gli stupri sono cronaca quotidiana.
Segen è morto all’ospedale di Modica il giorno dopo lo sbarco, il 13 Marzo 2018. Nel suo portafogli lacero teneva due poesie in tigrino, la sua lingua. Sono riportate più avanti.

Testo di Miki Del Prete e Vito Pallavicini. La musica, scritta da Paolo Conte e da Michele Virano, anche per mezzo di un magistrale e divertito impiego degli ottoni (l'arrangiamento è dell'orchestra di Giancarlo Trombetti), rifà genialmente il verso al celebre inno guerresco A Tripoli («Tripoli bel suol d'amore»), cantato da Gea della Garisenda nel 1911. Il 1969 è l'anno della conquista del potere da parte di Gheddafi – preludio all'espulsione degli ultimi colòni italiani dalla Libia l'anno successivo. Ma qui – il brano è stato registrato nel 1968, presentato a Canzonissima – «Tripoli» è parola priva di particolare significato; viene forse alla mente per associazione con «caldo», «battaglie». E l'uomo di cui si parla, che «va a vivere di più», è probabilmente diretto incontro a un'altra donna piuttosto che alla guerra.

Oggi o domani dovrò, mi sa, liquidare la mia "piantagione" di basilico (cinque vasi , tredici piante), perché quest'anno non era soltanto un buon anno per l'agricultura (caldo, ma con sufficenza dell'acqua), ma anche un'annata strepitosa per tutti i parassiti.
Non solo per "la corona" o le zanzare, ma anche per le cosidette mosche bianche, ovvero le aleurodidi delle serre.
Le piantine stanno ormai per ingiallire cercando per fare i fiori, ma il vero problema consiste nel fatto che sono piene zeppe di spropositato nummero di queste maledette mosche.
Addio basilico, allora.
Mi consolo sentendo un po' di musica cabila e guardando le foto della pornostar francese, Anissa Kate, che vanta le origini italiane e cabile del resto, ignuda...
