Dall'album "Semu tutti emigranti", 2015.
Interamente dedicato al tema dell'immigrazione, come un'unica grande cantata. E che per esteso ha diritto di cittadinanza in questo sito.
Il ricorso al dialetto, oltre a essere costitutivo del gruppo, sottolinea il legame a filo doppio tra l'Africa, l'Oriente e la Sicilia; non solo perché la Sicilia non esisterebbe senza l'Oriente e l'Africa, ma anche perché, del dramma oggi epocale dell'immigrazione, meridionali ed emigranti d'ogni dove sono fratelli di lacrime.
Un album che meriterebbe i più importanti riconoscimenti.
Che invece si conosce poco, come lo straordinario complesso, nato nel 1975 e meravigliosamente ancora attivo, della Taberna Mylaensis.
Interamente dedicato al tema dell'immigrazione, come un'unica grande cantata. E che per esteso ha diritto di cittadinanza in questo sito.

Nell’ottocento si attribuiva la rinascita della civiltà successivamente all’anno mille proprio al sollievo per esser scampati all’Armageddon. E infatti il brano tratta di rimandi alle piaghe d’Egitto, cogliendo l’occasione per parlare delle tragedie dei migranti in mezzo al Mare Nostrum, all’ipocrisia dello sdegno che molte “brave persone” provano nei confronti delle ingiustizie, senza muovere una mano per esse.

Un samba composto da Paulo Benjamin de Oliveira (1901-1949), detto Paulo da Portela – dal nome della strada di Rio de Janeiro dove abitava – importante sambista attivo tra il 1920 ed il 1940.
L'interpretazione più celebre di questo samba è quella di Antônio Candeia Filho (1935-1978), detto semplicemente Candeia, incisa in "Axé - Gente Amiga do Samba", ultimo suo disco prima di morire prematuramente, in ancor più giovane età dell'autore del brano.
Testo trovato sul blog A casa de vidro di Eduardo Carli de Moraes

Björn wrote the following notes about his song in his "95 Sånger" ("95 Songs") book:
"En kampsång, som har en anekdot förknippad med sej. Då Vikingarnas tidigare sångare, Stefan Borsch, skulle göra comeback ville han spela in sången på platta. Men det ville inte hans konservative producent. Då ringde skivbolagsdirektören, Bert Karlsson, upp mej och ville ändra texten. Jag vägrade och fick veta att då blev det ingen inspelning. Senare ringde Borsch själv och sa att han personligen kunde stå för texten, men alltså inte producenten. Två dagar senare ringde Bert Karlsson igen och sa: "Jag körde över den jävla producenten.... In 2016 the Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Bob Dylan. He was the first folk singer to to win the award. Mr. Dylan did not bother to travel to Stockholm at the Nobel ceremony, however he recorded his Nobel Prize Lecture in 2017.
In his lecture Dylan discusses (his way) Erich Maria Remarque's All Quiet on the Western Front and quotes some verses from a song, You Ain't Talkin' to Me, attributed to Charlie Poole.
However there is a problem. The quote was not by Charlie Poole: the verses were actually written many years later by Jim Krause and recorded The Alferd Packer Memorial String Band in 1985.
Our website was one of the two (together with Mudcat) having the lyrics of the song. Today, thanks to The Alferd Packer Memorial String Band and to Jim Krause we can publish the complete lyrics of the song and a link for listening.

Our website observes a number of simple rules for including / contributing new songs and/or translations.
1) Only English and German titles should be capitalized (Masters of War, Sagt mir wo die Blumen sind). Titles in other languages should be capitalized only where required (Les guerres de Napoléon, På mäster Olofs tid etc). Anyway, a song title should be always stated in the form it appears on its album.
2) Please never transcribe song titles and lyrics in alphabets other than Latin. A Russian song should be in Cyrillic, a Yiddish song in Hebrew &c. Transcriptions are shown only in footnotes.
3) Song lyrics (including choruses) should always be given in full form, without (Chorus) or (x2) or stuff like this. The song title should never be repeated in the lyrics box: one is enough.

Leaving On A Jet Plane
I heard that Leaving on a Jet Plane is about a flight attendant (AKA stewardess). Flight Attendants were not allowed to be married in the 50s and 60s. The flight attendants who did marry did so secretly and would remove their wedding ring when they went to work so they wouldn't be terminated.
