"I am the people. My hand lights life, makes deserts green, devastates tyrants". It's a song by the great Egyptian vernacular poet Ahmad Fu’ad Nigm, one of those great symbols of resistance and opposition in the Arab world.

Album: Saving The World
There are so many questions about 911 truth. Yet you never saw it in newspaper. That proves how strictly this country is under censorship and the media only works for the government insiders.
Tuesday March 2nd 2010 - In the Washington Times, in an article published in "Inside the Beltway - Explosive News" - Jennifer Harper writes about the enigmas still surrounding the 'inside job' of 9/11:
"February 22, 2010 - A lingering technical question about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks still haunts some, and it has political implications: How did 200,000 tons of steel disintegrate and drop in 11 seconds? A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center.

Le vieux caporal
[1829]
This freestyle, recorded over Nas's incredible 'Made You Look' beat, is a phenomenal example of radical street poetry. Williams passionately denounces the war on Iraq, and examines the irony of Black Americans becoming soldiers in the US Army: "We was the first type of oil that they ever stole … Now they want a deal and asking us to back them".

Choice of Weapons
[1995]
Album “Guru's Jazzmatazz, Vol. 2: The New Reality”

[RV]

[1999]
Lyrics & Music by Benjamin S. Folds
Album: The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner
"Army" is an alternative rock song by the band Ben Folds Five from their 1999 album The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, and reached #28 on the charts in the UK.
Extremely popular among fans of the band and even after the band's break up, the song is still almost always performed at Ben Folds' solo concerts. The song deals with indecision, independence, conflict, and freedom, and contains many memorable moments, including the opening line ("Well, I thought about the army, Dad said: 'Son, you're fucking high!'") and the bridge, which consists of a horn ensemble.
Folds has explained at live performances that the entire song is based on personal experiences, with a few exceptions.. most notably that he never grew a mullet (haircut).

Blantyre Explosion
Traditional (Arr. Christy Moore , Dónal Lunny , Arty McGlynn)
Album: Ordinary Man [1985]
The Blantyre mining disaster, which happened on the morning of 22 October 1877, in Blantyre, Scotland, was and remains Scotland’s worst mining accident. Pits No. 2 and No. 3 of William Dixon's Blantyre Colliery were the site of an explosion which killed 207 miners, the youngest being a boy of 11. It was known that "fire damp" was present in the pit and it is likely that this was ignited by a naked flame. The accident left 92 widows and 250 fatherless children.
At the time, rescue provisions were inadequate. Alexander Macdonald MP, president of the Miners' National Association and himself a former miner, prevented the surviving employees from attempting a rescue on safety grounds.
Repeated prior complaints about the working conditions at High Blantyre had been ignored. In fact, a year before, Blantyre... (Continues)

Enzo Jannacci: La forza dell'amore
Testo di Enzo Jannacci
Musica ispirata a Twist and Shout (The Isley Brothers, Beatles..) o anche a La Bamba di Ritchie Valens
LP "enzo jannacci in teatro" - 1965
Siamo umani.

(Rayes Le Bled)

Allende
Scritta da Don Lange
da Dark End Of The Street - 1981
I have 3 versions of where I heard this song.
1. On AFN radio late one night I heard Peggy Seeger sing it out of Franfurt.(unlikely).
2. I heard Don Lange sing it in The Meeting Place Dorset St. Dublin.(even more unlikely).
3. The Dir. of L.E. in R.T.E. sent me a cassette after hearing me sing El Salvador(by Johnny Duhan) in The Felons Club In Andytown.( poss.).
It is a powerful song which never loses its potency. I first recorded it with Moving Hearts in 1983( Dark End of The Street) and again in 2002 ( ive at Vicar St.)
The author still writes, sings and records and,I am glad to say still sends me the occasional song

Sangre d'Ochobre
