Quella che segue è la storia di un bluff, e non possono esserci mezze parole per definirlo. Una storia particolare che vado, appunto, a raccontare (o a confessare). Bisogna tornare un po' indietro, ai tempi della mia adolescenza.
L'adolescenza è, per natura, l'età della poesia. Non soltanto dei goffi tentativi di scrittura che caratterizzano tutti gli adolescenti, ma della "scoperta dei poeti". In questo giocano un ruolo decisivo quelli poco noti, trascurati, sconosciuti, dimenticati; per il sottoscritto, l'argentino (poi naturalizzato italiano) Juan Rodolfo Wilcock fu a dir poco decisivo. Credo che questa canzone sia sta scritta da Theodorakis, in memoria di due eventi che di fatto segnarono l’inizio della fine della dittatura dei colonnelli: la rivolta dei marinai del cacciatorpediniere Velos, nel maggio del 1973, e la repressione del movimento studentesco ad Atene, nel novembre dello stesso anno.
Il 23 maggio 1973, l’equipaggio di una nave da guerra greca impegnata in manovre NATO in acque territoriali italiane, decise una forma estrema di protesta in seguito a notizie che riferivano l’arresto in Grecia di alcuni ufficiali contrari al regime… Il comandante Nicholaos Pappas comunicò che lui e tutti i marinai del Velos erano solidali con gli oppositori arrestati e contrari alla dittatura. Farewell To Sicily
Carissimi, solo una precisazione ma doverosa. L'aria "Farewell to the CReeks" fu composta dal Pipe Major James Robertson in ricordo della fattoria di suo zio nelle vicinanze di Creeks of Portknockie nella regione del Banffshire , nella quela da bambino era solito passare le vacanze. L'aria fu scritta durante la prima guerra mondiale. Hamish la sentì suonare per la prima volta ben 25 anni dopo, perchè nel tempo "Farewell to the Creeks" era entrata nel reperorio delle pipe band scozzesi.
Infine vorrei segnalare altre bellissime versioni di "Banks of Sicily". Dick Gaughan, nel tempo, l'ha riproposta in maniera differente; il grande Dominic Behan sul finire degli anni 50, e più recentemente Geordie McIntyre e Owen Hand assieme ai Whistlebinkies-

…Sì, sono al corrente… Prima di queste soluzioni bell'e pronte, c'erano mezzucci più "artigianali" come per es. aggiungere &fmt=18 al link youtube "per ottenere l'HQ" cioè la teorica risoluzione video 480 x 270 e l'audio stereo (che dipendono, ovviamente, dalla qualità originaria con cui il video è stato caricato) oppure far precedere il link da "kick" (http://kickyoutube.com/watch?v=etc. al posto di http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= etc., togliendo www.) per avere una schermata con diverse opzioni di download, comprese mp4 ed mp3 (oltre che flv, il formato standard dei video youtube).

Ho assistito venerdi 26 febbraio 2010,ad un magnifico concerto di Francesco a Perugia,canzone bellissima.Non dobbiamo dimenticare quello che hanno fatto i partigiani per noi,anche questo è un modo per trasmettere ai nostri giovani(che affollano peraltro i concerti di Francesco)i valori della resistenza.

La Métamorphose des Escargots est la nonante-quatrième chanson du Cycle du Cahier ligné, constitué d'éléments tirés du Quaderno a Cancelli de Carlo Levi.
Vois-tu, Lucien l'âne mon ami, comme souvent, la canzone d'aujourd'hui a un titre étrange, elle s'intitule : La Métamorphose des Escargots. Si elle s'était intitulée simplement La Métamorphose, on aurait pu y voir une allusion et un hommage à Franz Kafka(ce qu'elle est, d'ailleurs), jeune homme tchèque doué pour l'écriture et sans doute, un des grands novateurs de littérature du siècle dernier – à tout le moins. Par parenthèse, son nom - si, c'est là une manie de traducteur, on le traduisait en français - donnerait quelque chose de tout aussi mystérieux : François Chouca. The mother is left alone with starving children, which often forces her to send the youngest to work in the rich houses where they are paid only with a few scraps of food, a corner to sleep in, and beatings when they can't work hard enough, This picture will change when "our courage is stronger than all our tears."

C'è un problemino. Qui il testo viene attribuito a Ιακωβος Καμπανελλης, che i visitatori di AWS ben conoscono come l'autore delle quattro canzoni di Mauthausen musicate da Theodorakis. Ma nel volume "ΜΕΛΟΠΟΙΗΜΕΝΗ ΠΟΙΗΣΙΣ", (Poesia in musica) che raccoglie i testi delle canzoni di Theodorakis dal 1960 al 1996, e che è firmato dal musicista stesso, testo e musica sono attribuiti a Mikis. La nota dice: "Composizione 1965, Atene. Fu cantata dalla folla il giorno dei funerali, nel Luglio 1965. Fu registrata dopo la caduta della Dittatura, è compresa nel disco "ΤΗΣ ΕΞΟΡΙΑΣ" (Canzoni dell'esilio) (1976, Vassilis Papakostandinou, Minos).
Anche la data dell' edizione discografica andrebbe dunque verificata, anche se anch'io sono (quasi) certo di averla sentita prima del 76, con la voce della Farandouri, mi sembra tra le canzoni della resistenza europea che l'Espresso regalò un anno agli abbonati: tre LP che avevo ma che ora non ho più. Sarà stata la fine degli anni Sessanta.
Indagheremo.

Dall’album “Haiti: Ki Sa Pou-N Fe?” (Haiti: What is to Be Done?), Folkways (Paredon) Records, 1975. Scritta nel 1973 dal musicista haitiano Toro.
Siccome terremoti, guerre e carestie si abbattono sempre e soltanto, per ragioni che non è difficile cogliere, sui poveracci, comincio a postare qualche canzone proveniente da Haiti, uno dei paesi più miseri del mondo, che da alcune settimane è sotto i riflettori internazionali (che diversamente non se la cagano proprio) per via del terribile terremoto che l’ha travolta…
Il creolo haitiano è pieno di accenti… non vogliatemene se alla fine me ne sarò volato qualcuno durante la faticosa trascrizione dei testi…
