Mis colegas
Secondo me è comunque contro la guerra visto che si scaglia contro il problema del narcotraffico, che sta sempre più assumendo i caratteri di un conflitto vero e proprio. I paesi industrializzati producono armi e le vendono poi ai narcotrafficanti che così possono mantenere il loro 'impero'.

Voce recitante di Felice Andreasi.
Queste tre strofe sono state estrapolate da una poesia più lunga, “El liber del mond”, scritta da Angelo Brofferio nel 1831 mentre si trovava in carcere, arrestato per via della sua adesione alla carboneria e alla società segreta massonica dei Franchi Muratori. Angelo Brofferio (1802-1866), originario di Asti, è stato poeta ed esponente politico della sinistra nel Parlamento subalpino. Fu anticonformista, antimonarchico e anticlericale e, fra i vari anti-, si oppose pure al coinvolgimento nelle guerra di Crimea.
La poesia originale (visibile qui ma con parecchi difetti dovuti alla trascrizione ottica) è contenuta nella “Raccolta completa delle canzoni e dei poemetti piemontesi di Angelo Brofferio” a cura di L. De Mauri, edito a Torino nel 1902.

Ci sono tanti stereotipi del veterano della guerra in Vietnam: l’invalido fottuto, quello che non ha retto all’orrore ed è andato fuori di testa, il tossico e/o alcolista e/o barbone reietto dalla società, il traumatizzato divenuto un pazzo sanguinario che spara sulla folla dall’alto di qualche edificio oppure sequestra o stupra o uccide, quello che ha preso coscienza ed è diventato pacifista… In questa canzone David Rodriguez racconta invece di quei molti che, fattisi le ossa massacrando vietnamiti, continuarono poi a “servire la patria” massacrando o insegnando a massacrare altra gente nel “cortile di casa” USA, il centro e sud America. Ci sono tanti stereotipi del veterano della guerra in Vietnam: l’invalido fottuto, quello che non ha retto all’orrore ed è andato fuori di testa, il tossico e/o alcolista e/o barbone reietto dalla società, il traumatizzato divenuto un pazzo sanguinario che spara sulla folla dall’alto di qualche edificio oppure sequestra o stupra o uccide, quello che ha preso coscienza ed è diventato pacifista… In questa canzone David Rodriguez racconta invece di quei molti che, fattisi le ossa massacrando vietnamiti, continuarono poi a “servire la patria” massacrando o insegnando a massacrare altra gente nel “cortile di casa” USA, il centro e sud America. Il termina deriva dal verso di una canzone inglese, “Macdermott's War Song”, risalente all’epoca della guerra russo-turca (1877-1878), uno dei tanti conflitti che nel corso della storia hanno insaguinato i Balcani e il Caucaso. Amos Paoli, né à Barga (Lucca) en 1917, mort à Massarosa (Lucca) le 27 juin 1944, paysan, Médaille d'or à valeur militaire in memoriam
Contraint à vivre en chaise roulante des suites de la poliomyélite, Amos Paoli n'éluda pas ses devoirs de patriote et d'antifasciste. Malgré qu'il fut gravement handicapé, après le 8 septembre 1943, il fut un organisateur très actif de la résistance armée dans la région de Lucca. Sa maison de Seravezza fut pendant presque un an le cente des réunions clandestines et d'entreposage de fournitures et d'armes pour les formations partisanes de la région. Le 25 juin 1944, suite à une délation, les fascistes firent irruption dans l'habitation de Paoli et, après une perquisition poussée, ils réussirent à trouver des armes et des munitions qui y étaient cachées. Risaliamo indietro nel tempo e arriviamo al 1966, Guccini scrive "La canzone del bambino nel vento", che per semplificare viene chiamata "Auschwitz" (ammettiamolo, questo titolo è molto più efficace anche se non è quello scelto da Guccini) e firmata da Lunero e Vandelli perché Guccini all'epoca non era iscritto alla Siae e non gliene importava poi molto. Successivamente ci vorranno molti anni perché Guccini possa tornare in possesso dei diritti della sua canzone. "Auschwitz" viene proposta dall'Equipe 84 come retro di "Bang Bang" (al cui testo, sempre peraltro senza figurare, ha sempre collaborato Guccini, ma la prima canzone firmata da Guccini sarà solo, nel 1967, "Dio è morto"). E' una scelta coraggiosa, di rottura quella dell'Equipe: da un lato un successo americano di Sonny & Cher, dall'altro una canzone politica scritta da uno sconosciuto come Francesco... (Continues)

“Per anni ho preso questa canzone degli Uriah Heep solo come una bella canzone su di un bel parco. Realizzando questo video ho capito che invece si tratta di una canzone dedicata alla memoria di un giovane “che morì in un’inutile guerra”. Così ho cominciato a pensare ad un ragazzo che ha fatto quella fine e che ha una targa proprio in questo parco di Göteborg dove ho fatto le mie foto. David era un ragazzo svedese che era venuto a New York per lavorare in una società con sede ai piani alti del World Trade Center. David non è sopravvissuto agli attacchi dell’11 settembre 2001.
