Ah, Lucien l'âne mon ami à l'esprit ouvert sur toute chose, tu as pratiqué toi aussi, comme moi, comme Riccardo Scocciante, Francis Blanche et bien des autres, cet art merveilleux de la parodie. Aujourd'hui, je t'en apporte une des plus réussies qui soient. Et, sans doute, le sais-tu, la parodie a souvent un double but : celui de régler son compte à une scie et celui de porter le tranchant de l'ironie et de l'humour (plaisir d'humour) dans le vif de la bêtise ou de l'insupportable. Elle vit parfois de dérision.

Oui, mon ami Marco Valdo M.I., je sais assez bien tout cela, mais où veux-tu en venir ?

Rends-toi compte, Lucien l'âne mon ami aux pieds de basalte, il m'a fallu aller jusqu'au Québec et traverser tout un océan en plein hiver, pour retrouver cette merveille. Sans doute, une des plus belles chansons du monde. Je te la chanterais bien, mais je n'ose pas, car la chanter ou rien que d'y penser commence à me mettre les larmes aux yeux, puis très vite, je me mets à sangloter. Je t'épargnerai çà... Rassure-toi !

Mais enfin, Marco Valdo M.I. mon ami, on a raison de pleurer quand la chanson est si belle et d'ailleurs, je pleurerai avec toi. On a des tripes ou on n'en a pas. Patrice Lumumba è stato il padre dell'indipendenza congolese. Nel 1958 fondò il Movimento Nazionale Congolese e quando il Belgio, che sperava di mantenere comunque il proprio protettorato sul paese, fece finta di concedere l'indipendenza, Lumumba, diventato nel frattempo primo ministro, africanizzò l'esercito espellendo i quadri belgi. Ovviamente ciò mandò su tutte le furie la potenza coloniale che occupò il Katanga con le sue truppe... A questo punto Lumumba fece un errore che gli risultò fatale: si fidò di un generale, tale Mobutu Sese Seko, che invece si accordò con i belgi, lo arrestò e lo assassinò il 17 gennaio 1961 insieme a tutti i suoi più stretti collaboratori... Una canzone sull'Africa e su come poco o nulla sia cambiato nel passaggio dall'epoca della colonizzazione a quella del neocolonialismo.

Il "Mamadou" del titolo è il senegalese Mamadou "Mathieu" Konté, ideatore ed organizzatore del circuito musicale "Africa Fête". E' senza dubbio a questo personaggio, morto a Dakar nel 2007, che si deve la promozione ed il successo della musica e dei musicisti africani (da Manu Dibango a Touré Kunda, da Xalam a Mory Kanté, da Johnny Claig a Salif Keita, da Angelique Kidjo a Youssou N'Dour) in Europa e USA negli ultimi 30 anni.

Un'altra canzone dedicata a Stephen Biko, il leader del Movimento per la Coscienza Nera, ucciso nel 1977 dal regime sudafricano per mano del feroce assassino Gideon Nieuwoudt e dei suoi cani bianchi del Port Elizabeth Security Branch.

Biko fu una delle tante vittime, solo la più nota, di questo sadico torturatore, omicida seriale... Voglio qui ricordare Siphiwo Mtimkhulu, un attivista del movimento degli studenti neri, che nel 1981 (tre anni dopo la morte di Biko, quindi), durante una manifestazione, fu ferito dalla polizia, arrestato e detenuto per cinque mesi senza imputazione alcuna. In prigione fu torturato selvaggiamente dallo stesso Gideon Nieuwoudt che, prima di rilasciarlo, gli somministrò pure del tallio, un metallo pesante che avvelena velocemente l'organismo portando in breve tempo alla morte (vecchio metodo di eliminazione tipico dei servizi... Una canzone dedicata alla terribile guerra civile che insanguinò la Sierra Leone per tutti gli anni 90 e oltre, guerra che causò oltre 200.000 morti e che fu causata anche dai fortissimi interessi delle società multinazionali (la statunitense CAST insieme alla sudafricana De Beers – fondata dall’inglese Cecil Rhodes - e alla sezione "Minerals International and Development" della British Petroleum) sullo sfruttamento delle grandi risorse minerarie del paese.
Tanto grandi quegli interessi che nel 2000 il governo inglese mandò i propri parà a "pacificare" il paese, sua vecchia colonia, affinchè la BP e i suoi soci potessero riprendere i propri affari in tranquillità dopo troppi anni di "turbolenze"...
