THE MAUTHAUSEN TRILOGY
The "Mauthausen Trilogy" also known as "The Ballad of Mauthausen", and the "Mauthausen Cantata", is a cycle of four arias with lyrics based on poems written by Greek poet Iakovos Kambanellis, a Mauthausen concentration camp survivor, and music written by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. It has been described as the "most beautiful musical work ever written about the Holocaust", and as "an exquisite, haunting and passionate melody that moves Kambanellis' affecting words to an even higher level".

La versione neerlandese (olandese/fiamminga) tratta dal sito dello Strijdkoor Kontrarie, del cui repertorio fa parte (nell'originale spagnolo).
Guajira Guantanamera van Joseíto Fernandez (1908-1979). Vroeger bekend als de Koning van de Melodie en bekend geworden met een van zijn liederen “Guajira Guantanamera”. Deze wereldhit werd ontelbare malen bewerkt en herwerkt. Handelde eigenlijk over een mooie inwoonster van Guantánamo maar door vele aanpassingen blijft van de guajira in de tekst geen spoor meer over. Later kwam Julían Orbón op het idee als tekst de Versos Sencillos (eenvoudige verzen) van José Martí te gebruiken.
