The section dedicated to the classic album "The Wall" by Pink Floyd is now complete. You can find an introduction to the album in Another Brick In The Wall Part I.
Obviously, due to the topic of this website, we focused on the "first brick in the wall", the first tragic experience which leaves its mark on the protagonist's life: his father's death in Anzio during World War II (an autobiographical reference for Roger Waters who some years before had written Us And Them, related to the same underlying story)

Yes Sir, I Will
THE PIG'S HEAD CONTROVERSY. THE AESTHETICS OF ANARCHY
http://members.tripod.com/parolesdunpu...
December 7th. 1977. 5.30pm.
The old man weeps. Crusty eyes. His nose is snot-running. His child writhes on the pavement. The rubber bullet has glanced off the child's eye. The right eye. Cobwebs of blood form on the white of eye.
"Right lads, wait until you see the white of eye. Wait lads, wait."
The cobwebs pass into the iris. The cobwebs pass into the pupil. The cobweb pass into the retina. A darkness. Half the brain is cast in darkness. Dusk. Half darkness. The soldiers chuckle on the cold street corners. The wind moves stealthily through the streets. It has no motive. The guns are still warm, stealthily through the streets, slung on exaggerated shoulders.
The child paws helplessly at the blinded eye. Searches light. Nothing but the cold stain of dusk. Pre-birth twice.

[1972]
Neil Young / Graham Nash
"May 1972: Neil Young writes "War Song" as a gesture of support for the anti-Vietnam War campaign of Presidential candidate George McGovern, and records it on his ranch with Graham Nash (who receives co-billing on the subsequent single), Kenny Buttrey, Tim Drummond and Ben Keith. The single is released to coincide with the Democratic Party's California primary, with proceeds going to help meet McGovern's expenses. This single flopped, and so, at the end of the year, did George."

It's Not Our War
Music and Lyrics by Rich Pulin
"On august 2nd 1964, an American ship, the USS Maddox, was allegedly attacked, by the North Vietnamese in the gulf of Tonkin.this alleged attack led president Johnson to solicit congress for a declaration of war against the North Vietnamese, which was granted. shortly thereafter, both the first army and first marine divisions (50,000 men) were sent to Viet Nam and put on active duty. Prior to this event, the United States military involvement was restricted to only military advisors. president Kennedy planned on withdrawing those advisors before he was assasinated. Years later, the captain of the uss Maddox, John J. Herrick, confessed that his ship was never attacked and that he had fabricated most of the story to cooperate with the Johnson administrations efforts to accelerate the conflict into all out war. Today's "Tonkin" is "weapons of mass destruction"...and... (Continues)
