Testo e musica / Lyrics and music / Paroles et musique / Sanat ja sävel: Dirk Witte
(Continues)

Version néerlandaise de Maria Wilhelmina Vos [1938]
Maria Wilhelmina Vosin hollanninkielinen versio [1938]
Assieme a Peter Storm forma il duo “Your Local Pirates”.

Appare abbastanza... (Continues)

This powerful and very beautiful Dutch version of both the Warszawianka and !A las barricadas! could be called a “mixed” version with original characters. It was written in 1972 by Jaap van de Merwe together with Rob van de Meeberg, Marius Monkau, Nelly Frijda and Marjan Kweksilber. Jaap van de Merwe and Marjan Kweksilber also sing the song. The song shows a number of variants in the lyrics, and some points are controversial in the lyrics available in the Web; btw, the lyrics shown in the video do not always match what it is really sung. So, we have decided to transcribe the lyrics by direct listening, with a number of notes. The lyrics are written in a form of Dutch somewhat archaic, or high-falutin, even in pronunciation...

This version, reported by Martin Decaluwe who found it in a pdf document of ABVV (a Belgian trade union), appears to be, though with modernized spelling, the complete version of Henriëtte Roland Holst's 1899 classical Dutch Internationale: this may be inferred with a good degree of certainty from its linguistic features. The French original is rendered here in its wholeness. We thank heartily Martin Decaluwe for his report allowing re-establishment of another complete version of the Internationale. [RV]

Til ungdommen [Kringsatt av fiender]
Nederlandse vertaling van nl.wikipedia af
Dutch translation from nl.wikipedia
Richard and Linda Thompson: The Great Valerio
Interpretata da Madou [2005]
Musica: Richard Thompson, 1974
Album: Madou / Madouce
[RV]

Jaap Fischer
La versione neerlandese di Jaap Fischer (1963)
Jaap Fischer's Dutch version was released in 1963 and is probably one of the first translations into a language other than English, and certainly the very first Dutch version. It was released as the "A side" of an antiwar single (the B... (Continues)

(Continues)
