I Måneskin tornano con una instant song in inglese che si rivolge direttamente a Putin e all'esercito russo. Come fate a dormire? Il sangue delle vittime che avete provocato non vi tiene svegli la notte? Non un messaggio originalissimo, ma comunque efficace. La canzone fa parte del progetto “Stand Up for Ukraine”.

I would have liked to release it on the disc scheduled for the end of 2022, but it is necessary to pay everyone's attention so that as many voices as possible are raised to defend a man who fought for our freedom.
It is a battle for human dignity for the defense of rights.
It's about us all. We cannot look away.
This song is for Julian Assange.

Described by The Guardian as being a ‘mic drop on the nation’, ‘January 26’ is a protest anthem unlike any other.

Penned by Indigenous MCs Briggs and Trials and featuring a hook from Dan Sultan, ‘January 26’ sees A.B. Original tear into the celebration of Australia Day on January 26 when James Cook first docked in Botany Bay: a date which many Aboriginal Australians associate with the ongoing persecution and systematic genocide of their people.

Although the date is set to be changed, ‘January 26’ undeniably flung the conversation into the conscience of the mainstream, and acted as a history lesson for many a young Australian raised in an educational system that tends to glance over such details.

In 2008, Newcastle-via-Cairns trio The Last Kinection burst onto the scene with their debut album Nutches.

Mop Conlon wrote 'Brisbane Blacks' so Aboriginal rights wouldn't become yesterday's news

In September 1982, Brisbane hosted the 12th Commonwealth Games. With the world’s eyes on Australia, First Nations people from around the country converged on the Queensland capital to march for Aboriginal rights.

The protests – and the mass arrests that followed – gained international attention. They also got the attention of a local musician by the name of Dennis 'Mop' Conlon.

“4-15-13” pays homage to the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing, most of whom the band grew to know personally after visits to their hospital rooms in the aftermath. “Since that day, we felt like not taking the challenge to write a song about what we all went through would be taking the coward’s way out. We put more importance on writing that piece of music than anything we’ve ever done, because if you’re going to touch that day, it has to be done right. We went through so many emotions with that whole experience, as did everyone in Boston. It changed the city forever,” singer Ken Casey said.

La tempesta citata nel titolo dell'album in questione é infatti la rappresentazione delle conseguenze causate da questi comportamenti umani.

La canzone con cui si apre l'album descrive la brama di ricchezza che contraddistingue l'industria del petrolio ma anche i pericoli d'inquinamento per l'ambiente. La Scozia, terra natìa di Anderson, si affaccia sul Mare del Nord.

Nel testo di Flying Dutchman, l'olandese volante Anderson è stato ispirato con ogni probabilità dal fatto che nel 1975 (fine della Guerra del Vietnam) molti vietnamiti hanno tentato invano di trovare una nuova casa dove abitare in altre parti del mondo, abbandonando il proprio paese via mare senza però che nessuna nazione li accettasse come rifugiati ("Wee girl in a straw hat: from far east warring"), condannati a navigare senza meta. L'ultima parte della canzone però avverte i popoli benestanti dell'Occidente che potrebbero diventare loro stessi degli "olandesi volanti".

In questo brano dal testo diretto il gruppo hardcore Jinjer, proveniente dalla città ucraina di Donetsk, nel Donbass, racconta l'esperienza della guerra alla porta di casa, vissuta dai membri e dalle loro famiglie in prima persona nel 2014. Lo fa contrapponendo immagini innocenti, come potrebbero apparire agli occhi di un bambino (fuochi artificiali, il canto delle sirene, un angelo, un unicorno, una festa) con la durezza della realtà, e conclude con un appello accorato per la pace e la libertà.

War Profiteering Is Killing Us All is the sixth studio album by the Detroit, Michigan punk rock band The Suicide Machines, released in 2005 by Side One Dummy Records. The band broke up the following year while touring in support of the album. The album's artwork and many of its songs are critical of President George W. Bush's administration and the Iraq War. Musically, the album explores the ska punk and hardcore styles the band was known for, with short, aggressive songs dealing mostly with social and political topics. A music video was filmed for the single "War Profiteering is Killing Us All".

Il titolo dice tutto sulla canzone: "You, He, She, We want to live peacefully" (Tu, lui lei, noi vogliamo vivere pacificamente. La canzone in inglese ha un respiro internazionale ed è contenuta nel L.P. "Please" ristampato in CD nel 2015. Il testo riporta il sentimento di serenità ed amore che ci regala la vita in certi momenti e quello di dolore e di angoscia in altri per le disgrazie che colpiscono il mondo e termina con l'esortazione di lottare insieme per la pace e l'more nel mondo.

Cette chanson de Scorpions a été captée lors d'un enregistrement live à Saint-Petersbourg, alors encore appelée Leningrad, en 1988. Elle est sortie en 1992 sur la compilation "Still Loving You" ainsi qu'en single, puis sur l'album live de 1995 "Live Bites". C'est un "semi-live" car bien qu'ayant été initialement captée en live, la chanson a subi de fortes retouches en studio.

En préambule de la chanson, le chanteur Klaus Meine réalise l'effort d'expliquer le texte de la chanson dans la langue de Tchaïkovski. En effet, les paroles sont empruntes d'humanisme et de pacifisme, et anticipent un futur meilleur, sans toutefois jamais évoquer de référence historique.

La chanson retranscrit bien le contexte dans lequel les Scorpions sont arrivés en URSS ; il s'agissait en effet de l'un des premiers groupes occidentaux à s'y produire en concert et c'est avec un message de paix qu'ils venaient d'Allemagne.... (Continues)
