This powerful and very beautiful Dutch version of both the Warszawianka and !A las barricadas! could be called a “mixed” version with original characters. It was written in 1972 by Jaap van de Merwe together with Rob van de Meeberg, Marius Monkau, Nelly Frijda and Marjan Kweksilber. Jaap van de Merwe and Marjan Kweksilber also sing the song. The song shows a number of variants in the lyrics, and some points are controversial in the lyrics available in the Web; btw, the lyrics shown in the video do not always match what it is really sung. So, we have decided to transcribe the lyrics by direct listening, with a number of notes. The lyrics are written in a form of Dutch somewhat archaic, or high-falutin, even in pronunciation... Hoe is dit lied ontstaan? Waarschijnlijk hebben velen er aan bij gedragen waarbij het lied gedurende de oorlog evalueerde: aanvankelijk in 1914-1915 stond het bekend onder de naam “La chanson de Lorette”, het lied veranderde in de 2e slag om Champagne in 1916, en ook bij Verdun werd het lied al gezongen in een wat andere tekst.
De locatie waar het lied zijn definitieve vorm kreeg was het dorp Craonne op het plateau van Californie. Hier vonden de zeer bloedige gevechten plaats op 16 april 1917. Het zou deze slag geweest zijn die voor de Franse soldaten de druppel was die de emmer deed overlopen en de muiterij begon waarbij dit lied ook zijn definitieve naam kreeg: Chanson de Craonne.

Il testo di Jan Devos, in lingua neerlandese, è stato interpretato da Madou nell'album Madou/Madouce del 2005 e dev'essere senz'altro organico ad un album dove, sulle copertine recto/verso, si vede una ragazza che cade da una finestra in due modalità differenti. Flavio parlava di suggestioni nelle quali non si è mai soli: debbo dargli ragione. Il testo neerlandese di Jan Devos, pur cantato sulla musica di The Great Valerio, non è propriamente una "traduzione": è una canzone autonoma, ed è, soprattutto, la storia esatta, la descrizione della caduta mortale di Karl Wallenda. De muziek werd gecomponeerd in 1938 door Matvej Blanter (Матвей Блантер) en de tekst is van de hand van Michail Isakovski (Михаил Исаковский). Ondanks de bekendheid van het lied wordt Katjoesja niet als een volkslied beschouwd.

Auferstanden aus Ruinen (Opgestaan uit de Ruïnes) was het volkslied van de Duitse Democratische Republiek. Het werd gecomponeerd door Hanns Eisler, de tekst werd geschreven door de dichter Johannes R. Becher, die later minister van onderwijs werd. Verrassend genoeg werd niet aan de veel invloedrijkere dichter Bertolt Brecht gevraagd of hij de tekst wilde schrijven.
In de tekst spreekt men vijf keer over Duitsland, en wordt een verenigd vaderland genoemd.
