Rinchiuso nel carcere di Nagpur dal 2017, ne è finalmente uscito dopo che l’Alta Corte di Bombay ha annullato la precedente condanna. Ritenendo evidentemente inconsistenti (“non motivate”) le accuse nei suoi confronti di “cospirazione” per i presunti legami con il Partito comunista dell’India-maoista (clandestino).

Quando si ha a che fare, in “Rete”, con Enrico il Laborioso (questo sarebbe l’italiano per “Erich Mühsam”), è, appunto, sempre assai laborioso riuscire a determinare in quale anno una sua poesia è stata scritta. Così per questa poesia, poi musicata e cantata dal cantautore Christoph Holzhöfer nel 2011. Appare chiaro che Erich Mühsam debba averla scritta mentre si trovava in galera; solo che, a partire dal 1919, in galera c’era stato parecchie volte. Dopo la fine della Räterepublik bavarese, fu accusato di “alto tradimento” e condannato a 15 anni di reclusione; fu però liberato dopo cinque anni riprendendo la sua attività, finché, nel 1933, dopo l’ascesa alla cancelleria di Adolf Hitler e l’incendio del Reichstag, fu di nuovo arrestato e rinchiuso, in condizioni... This is a slow-drag worksong, used for hoeing or cane-cutting. It is a variant of "Makes a Long Time Man Feel Bad." which Alan Lomax collected in the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman in 1947. About twenty-five years old, James Russell is one of the rare young prisoners who sing worksongs. Generally only those who are forty or over sing them.

In his usually eloquent and colorful way, Roosevelt Charles described the sort of situation which must have originally goaded a prisoner into making up this song: "This was when the train was rollin' down the track of Angola. They had a railroad runnin' around about. They had a railroad gang there and they had quite a few hammers on the line. There was a boy he had been roll and roll, sometime he'd be up through the night through the day. The sun was shinin' hot in the month of August you know that it's a very hot month. An' the sweat was beginnin' to roll along and he call the water boy and the water boy he refuse. He call for the boss and the boss turned his back. So the boy he laid his hammer on the spike and he begin to strike on the spike and these are the words he said:

facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Supporters of human rights and due process are today joining together from all corners of the world to mark the event in the form of protests and peaceful actions. In Australia, Dr. Aloysia Brooks, torture prevention advocate, and songwriter and human rights advocate, Les Thomas, have released the song ‘Guantanamo Blues’, and included an open letter (below) to President Barack Obama calling for him to close Guantanamo, restore due process and human rights.
The song was written to raise awareness about the ongoing situation of those detained in the facility. Most of the 127 prisoners that remain have been cleared for release, but remain imprisoned without charge or trial. In the 1950s, LSU English professor Dr. Harry Oster recorded a series of music performances by African American prisoners at the infamous facility. Ciao 3 anni fa nel CPR di Torino, poi chiuso dopo le denunce, si suicidò Moussa Bolde, anche lui 23 enne proveniente da Guinea come
Ousmane Sylla. Anche traumatizzato dopo un pestaggio a Ventimiglia curato e in fretta rinchiuso nel CPR.
De Andrè cantava "Quando hanno aperto la porta era già tardi perché con una corda sul collo si era impiccato Michè".
Questi due ragazzi non avevano commesso reati e non avevano 20 anni da scontare volevano solo vivere normalmente o tornare al paese che li aveva costretti a fuggire.

Ousmane era in Italia Da 6 anni non dal 2021 era arrivato minorenne.. ne parla Internazionale.
Prima di Trapani era vissuto presso una casa famiglia a Sant'Angelo Cassino, credo la stessa a cui si riferisce nel messaggio scritto sul muro

Talvolta le notizie si accavallano, sembrando quasi contraddirsi.
E’ questo, in questi giorni almeno, il caso dei prigionieri politici Mapuche rinchiusi nelle carceri cilene e da mesi in huelga de hambre.
Stando alle fonti ufficiali (diciamo “istituzionali”) almeno due di loro avrebbero appeno sospeso la protesta dopo quasi 80 giorni.
Comunque sia, il 9 febbraio la Corte di Appello di Concepcion avrebbe annullato la sentenza a circa 15 anni di carcere contro due dirigenti della Coordinadora Arauco Malleco (Héctor Llaitul - figlio del principale leader della CAM - e Ramón Llanquileo) e altri comuneros (Ricardo Reinao, Nicolás Alcaman e Esteban Henríquez).
Osservo che tra gli scioperanti della fame ne troviamo almeno altri due con il cognome llaitul, Ernesto e Bastian.
