Old Man Trump
[1952]
Words by Woody Guthrie
Music by Ryan Harvey
Testo di Woody Guthrie
Musica di Ryan Harvey
feat. Tom Morello & Ani DiFranco

Vedi anche No More di Eddie Vedder.
“Stray Bullets” is a song I wrote with Ryan Harvey for our friend Tomas Young (1979-2014). Tomas was a soldier paralyzed in the Iraq War, became a staunch anti-war activist with Iraq Veterans Against The War, and was a great dude.

White Christian Terrorists
[2010]
Singolo realizzato nell’ambito del progetto collettivo chiamato “Riot Folk”
Riot Folk
“Just an unfortunate song I had to jot down today after reading multiple news articles about these fucknut Christian terrorists in Michigan. No news articles i could find even contained the word "terrorist". Not surprising, but it makes me fucking angry.” (Ryan Harvey)
(Continues)

Placing The Blame
[2006]
Album: Blowback [2010]
"For my friend Austin who was killed in Iraq in 2006.. and for all of those accidental "heroes" whose lives were taken early because of our government's imperial ambitions. Our hearts sink everyday when we think of these friends and relatives... I wrote this to try to explain something I had brought up with close friends after his funeral; I am not mad at the people who killed him. I think they were fighting for their lives and their land, and I would hope that we would do the same thing if we were put in their position".

The Graveyard of Empires
Album: Blowback [2010]
"I wrote this after talking with a friend's father whose brother and many friends were killed by the Russians as they 'liberated' the Afghan people from themselves. Sound familiar? It should be noted that this song is not about the Taliban or the Northern Alliance or any of the corrupt warlords who seized power violently after the resistance to Russia, it is about the larger, secular resistance that carried with it broad support from the Afghan people. And it's about the Soviet Union's imperialist tendencies in the countries that surrounded it" (R.H.).

Ordinary Heroes (for Howard Zinn)
[2010]
"Howard Zinn turned things upside down and rightside up again, and the work he put into the telling of history, the stories he amplified, the justice he spread through his words and actions, has been a gift to my generation and those to come. A People's History was the first real book I read, and it turned a young man who hated history into a young, eager historian.. So, onward. Continue making history, and a new generation of grassroots historians will continue to put the work in to record it and pass it along to the future generations, so they can learn from an expand on our work.
Read it, write it, teach it, make it!"

Terry Whitmore
[2008]
Album: Soldier by soldier
Inspired and based-on Terry Whitmore's book "Memphis-Nam-Sweden". Terry Whitmore was a black GI who deserted the Vietnam War after being injured in a fire-fight. He denounced the American government strongly afterwards for it's racism and arrogance to invade a country to "liberate" it while blacks and others in the U.S. were being oppressed and murdered. He became a symbol in Europe of the American GI anti-war movement and the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who followed a similar path during what the Vietnamese call the "American War".
