Sallys Flat
A SMALL town 260km west of Sydney could become the dumping ground for two Olympic-size swimming pools of nuclear waste under a Federal Government proposal.
Sally’s Flat in central west NSW is one of six towns short-listed to house a national radioactive waste management facility.
The town is just 15km from the historic gold mining village of Hill End, a popular tourist site near Bathurst that draws thousands of visitors every year, including school groups.

These events all happened at different points in my life……
The person referenced in the first verse has been in jail for 4 years on other charges and remains a close friend.
The person referenced in the second verse was also sent to jail and declared a dangerous offender (despite the fact he worked as a police informant) a few years ago in reference to sexual assault charges brought against him by several women (and for that I'm not at all upset….) and the third verse just keeps going on and on and on - but was inspired by a protest against Chretien that took place at the Hyatt Hotel in Vancouver in 1998 - Megan

Gene sings this one.
A truly remarkable young woman, Margaret Thorp, known for her involvement in the contribution of the Women’s Peace Army (WPA) to the anti-war movement during World War 1. The WPA took aprominent role in opposing conscription for overseas military service which was rejected by a relatively narrow majority vote in the two referenda held in 1916 and 1917, a process which exposed deep divisions in Australian society.

Pavel Friedman - 4/6/1942 - Theresienstadt

Battering Ram
There is also the album's closing cut, haunting, gripping, melancholic tale of the First World War, "The Kingdom Of The Cross", where a poem unfurls the feelings and horrors which comprised this most brutal of global conflicts. "This year is the centenary of the end of the First World War. Nigel had a piece of music which he played on a synthesizer for a couple of years that I really liked. We had an actor (and singer), David Bower from the band HELL, read the poem and I sang the choruses. I didn't want it to be typical SAXON, so it is just keyboards, bass, me and Dave."

I nomi delle vittime: Luis J. Benavides (assassinato); Alejandro Ruiz (ferito); Enrique Valdelvira (assassinato); Javier Sauquillo (assassinato); Luis Ramos (ferito); Mª Dolores García (ferita); Serafín Holgado (assassinato); Miguel Sarabia (ferita); Ángel Rodríguez (assassinato)
