Más que una palabra
[1977]

I Drive Your Truck
[2012]
Songwriters: Connie Harrington / Jimmy Yeary / Jessi Alexander
Album: Hard 2 Love
I Drive Your Truck is a song written by Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington, and Jimmy Yeary, and recorded by American country music singer Lee Brice. It is the third single from his 2012 album Hard 2 Love.
The song is a ballad about the narrator driving a truck owned by his brother, who died in action in the United States Army. Co-writer Connie Harrington was inspired to write it after seeing an interview about parents who had lost their son in the war, and the mother or father (discrepancy in different articles) coped with the loss of their military son by driving his truck.
Taste of Country gave it 4.5 stars out of 5, with Billy Dukes saying that "Brice's strong lyrical performance[…]should broaden the story's scope, making it a big hit commercially and artistically." Tammy Ragusa of Country Weekly... (continuer)

(continuer)

Fatima
[2009]
Lyrics & Music by Keinan Abdi Warsame
Album: Troubadour
A very sad moving story:
This song is about a lost love. When K'naan was a teenager (back in Somalia) fell in love with a girl named Fatima.
However, the girl was sold by her parents.. And then she WAS KILLED in the Somali civil war
"In 2008, with a recording budget, I went on my own to Jamaica, to Bob Marley's old studio, and sang of a lovely, doomed young friend:
«Fatima, I'm in America, I make rhymes and I make 'em delicate, you would have liked the parks in Connecticut... Damn you shooter, damn you the building, whose walls hid the blood she was spilling, damn you country so good at killing, damn you feeling, for persevering».
That was my truest voice – my continent's angst in a personal story. When I sang, my audience wouldn't just hear music; they would see geography. And yes, it made me well known.."

The Scariff Martyrs
From Mrs. Murphy of Tulla, Co. Clare
1976
Black Album
In alcuni album anche intitolata The Bridge at Killaloe
90 years since shooting of Scariff Martyrs
By Michael Torpey
ON September 18, 1920, during the War of Independence, there was an attack on the Scariff RIC Barracks.
Communications were cut with the other barracks in East Clare and the attack began at 10 pm. Shots were exchanged but the IRA failed to capture the building. Two policemen received slight injuries and at 3am, the attack was called off.
Severe raids by the Black and Tans and the Auxiliaries followed and many of the volunteers had to leave their homes and go on the run. They had a series of safe houses where they could rest and had developed a system of early warnings of possible raids by the authorities. One of the safe houses used was the caretaker’s quarters attached to Williamstown House on the shores of Lough... (continuer)

Possa riposare in pace (1964 - 2013)».
