GRECIA. SI SPARA DAVANTI AL PARLAMENTO GRIDANDO: "COSÌ NON LASCIO DEBITI"
Orribile suicidio stamattina a piazza Syntagma.
(continua)

He Fell With Honor
[2007]
Album: The Cephus McGoogle Album
Lyrics & Music by Louis J. Brown and Phil Thomson
Vocal: John Johnson
This song is based upon a true story about a southern soldier, 32 years of age and the father of 8 children from Fayette County. He was forced to go and engage in the Civil War at that age in 1861. He did not own slaves and didn't support slavery..
It may well be appropriate that the Confederate Flag not fly over the capitol, but a descendant shouldn't be stigmatized if he still honors some aspects of that flag because his Great Grandfather was killed protecting his homeland and family after the northern invasion of the south. He neither owned slaves nor approved the system of slavery..

Water Under the Door
[1995]
Lyrics & Music by Tom Neilson
Album: Swords Into Plowshares
Social/political commentary on corporate terror. The "Swords Into Plowshares" album(1) is about the Colrain action which attempted to prevent the takeover of Randy and Betsy Kehler's home for tax refusal by the IRS.
Five communities in Western Massachusetts were destroyed and flooded to create the Quabbin Reservoir, so people could have water in Boston. The area was the site of the historical Shay's Rebellion.
"Water Under the Door" is an urgent call to action to confront the corporate terror that leads to the violence of poverty, hunger, homelessness, torture and murder.

[La Makhnovtchina]
anonimo
[RV]

Hiroshima (Pax Americana Mix)
[2005]
Composed, performed, produced by Sleiboi 'G'
Auferre trucidare rapere falsis nominibus imperium, atque ubi solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant. -Tac. Agricola 30 (De vita et moribus Iulii Agricolae)-
To ravage, to slaughter, to usurp under false titles, they call empire; and where they make a desert, they call it peace. (Tacitus - Oxford Revised Translation) .
On 6th August 1945, at 1,900 feet above the centre of the Japanese city of Hiroshima, America detonated the first of only two Weapons of Mass Destruction to have ever been used aggressively against another nation. Creating a fireball of a temperature in excess of that of the surface of the Sun, the city and its ordinary civilian residents were vapourised instantly. Around 160,000 people died in the blast with some 77,000 dying later of the radiation exposure.

Detainees still remain in Guantanamo Bay, they are held without charge or trial, in complete disregard of the Geneva Conventions.
The Bush Administration believes it can get away with this abuse by declaring them Non Combatants, but they are the ones who declared a War on Terror, and you can't have a war without enemy combatants. Anyone detained on suspicion of terrorism is therefore an enemy combatant and should be treated according to the Geneva Conventions.

Everyday People
(1968)
The song is one of Sly Stone's pleas for peace and equality between differing races and social groups, a major theme and focus for the band. The Family Stone featured Caucasians Greg Errico and Jerry Martini in its lineup, as well as females Rose Stone and Cynthia Robinson; making it the first major integrated band in rock history. Sly & the Family Stone's message was about peace and equality through music, and this song reflects the same.

(gpt)

Partigiano Hans
Chanson italienne - Partigiano Hans - Popinga

Venable
[2010]
Lyrics by Larry Ludwick
Music by Jon Bushaway
"This is all true. Nobody is protected, not even myself. A part of 'the dead company' project.."
"This is my response to wonderful review by Andreas of The Frankfurt Dialog Company which pretty much summarizes the story behind the song:
Thanks Andreas... I hope you don't mind, but I would always submit something like this to you because I know you will listen to and understand the lyric. Yes it is hard and especially because it is a perfectly true story. Every detail is as it happened to me and Venable.
The only thing that maybe you misinterpreted is the part about what happened to me when Venable went off to the war... because actually I enlisted... I enlisted for my own reasons and not because I had any thought of the war, it was just that my own life was in a shambles. But I did not want this song to be as much about me but more... (continua)

The Eton Rifles
Album: "Setting Sons" (1979)
"The Eton Rifles" as such, do not exist: the cadet corps of Eton College is the Eton College Officer Training Corps[2], Eton being a famous English public school in Berkshire that is regarded as the epitome of Britain's privileged 'elite'. The song itself recounts the difficulties faced by the unemployed and lower paid working class in protesting against a system loaded against them.
The song recounts a street battle Paul Weller had read about in the newspapers concerning elements of a Right To Work march going through Slough in 1978 breaking off to attack pupils from Eton College who had been jeering the lunchtime marchers (hence Hello, Hooray, an extremist scrape with the Eton Rifles), rashly thinking that a bunch of 'posh schoolboys' would be an easy target: only for the outnumbered but far fitter college pupils to give them a beating. As the lyric put it:... (continua)
