Hamada Ben Amor, in arte El Général, rapper tunisino di 22 anni originario di Sfax, è ormai famoso ed amatissimo nel suo paese, la Tunisia infiammata dalle proteste di questi giorni e bagnata dal sangue del suo popolo, affamato da oltre due decenni ed oggi massacrato per strada dalla polizia del dittatore Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali.
Nelle sue canzoni, infatti, El Général ha avuto come pochi il coraggio di attaccare direttamente il presidente/dittatore/padre-padrone Ben Ali, lo stesso che compare all’inizio del video di questa رئيس البلاد (Rayes Le Bled) intento, con aria molto poco rassicurante, ad estorcere inutilmente una qualche parola ad uno spaventato scolaro (il dittatore chiede – significativamente - al bimbo: “Perché non sei tranquillo? Mi vuoi dire qualcosa?”).

Tra i passeggeri di un aereo tunisino in scalo tecnico a Cagliari è stato sorpreso il solito clandestino, un tipo anziano questa volta, che dice di chiamarsi Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali. Sostiene che nel suo paese c'è una feroce dittatura e che gli vogliono fare la pelle. Vorrebbe asilo politico. Maroni, interpellato, ha osservato: "Dicono tutti così", e l'ha fatto custodire nel CIE locale, in attesa di rimpatriarlo con il primo volo. (Fantapolitica, naturalmente).

Lascio la parola a Gabriele Del Grande di Fortress Europe, ma mi pare che il sentimento (anche giustamente) ottimista che traspare dal suo articolo sia involontariamente contraddetto dal titolo che poi ha scelto: "Tunisia: nuovo corso, vecchia rotta". L'autore si riferisce alle rotte dei clandestini, battute pure dai tunisini (anche ieri ne sono sbarcati 39 in Sicilia provenienti da Sfax, la città de El Général...) ma al sottoscritto quella foto sa di altre "vecchie rotte", quelle dei vecchi lupi capaci di rimanare saldamente al potere anche quando il capo branco è costretto a squagliarsela...

d'après l'heureuse traduction italienne de Lorenzo Masetti de la chanson « Sangre d'Ochobre » – Skand – (2004)
Le titre de cette chanson fait référence à un bataillon asturien de la Guerre d'Espagne. La ritournelle est basée sur une comptine traditionnelle. « Sang d'Octobre » : le nom lui-même faisait référence à la Révolution socialiste et libertaire d'octobre 1934, menée par l'Alliance ouvrière des Asturies.

Dopo il terribile terremoto dell’anno scorso (250.000 morti), un’altra grave sventura si è abbattuta sulla povera Haiti, uno dei posti più sfigati della terra: dopo 25 anni di esilio dorato in Francia è tornato, accolto trionfalmente, il vecchio tiranno Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier, cacciato a furor di popolo nel 1986.

Pas facile ces histoires d'Allemagne, on dirait, dit Lucien l'âne en regardant Marco Valdo M.I. avec une grande tendresse.
En effet, il y a là beaucoup d'attention, beaucoup de choses à découvrir, c'est un monde inconnu – ou en tous cas, peu connu de moi – que je découvre. Je me demandais à quoi rimait tout ce nouveau cycle, tout ce nouveau Giro dans le siècle passé. L'espressione massacro della Lena (in russo Ленский расстрел, Lenskij rasstrel) si riferisce all'uccisione da parte dall'esercito zarista di parecchie centinaia di lavoratori delle miniere d'oro di Bodajbo, centro minerario posto sul fiume Vitim nel bacino della Lena; il fatto ebbe luogo il 17 aprile del 1912.

The band wrote the lyrics about the Iraq war after conducting research and found that "a lot of stuff does not add up", according to Flynn, which angered the band. Machine Head's debut album, Burn My Eyes, featured a similar song titled "A Thousand Lies" which dealt with the Gulf War.
Robb Flynn said "Clenching the Fists of Dissent" was one of the most difficult song to construct: He attributed the difficulty to the amount of tracks; the introduction of the song has 90, including multiple three-part harmony with two guitars, 20 tracks of snare drum, four tracks of kick drum, and military marching cymbals. The song continues with five electric guitars, three acoustic guitars and two bass guitars...

I wrote "Peace (For John Lennon)" in memory of the great John Lennon".
"I never got to met him but I always felt that he was like a friend to me through his music.
John changed the way that world was by being himself and standing up for what he believed in.
His music was melodic and the words were always thought provoking".

"Tonight" is a folk/rock/samba/bluegrass/fusion protest song! It is on my new album "The Source". It features the mandolin a lot as the main chordal instrument & has a cool fusion guitar solo in it.
"I started playing the mandolin about 2 years ago. After learning some basics on the instrument, I wrote the chords to "Tonight" on the mandolin. The lyrics came from thinking about what is going on with the world around me recently. We could make changes to this world to make it a better place if we only try".
