Ilse Koch, born Ilse Köhler (September 22, 1906 – September 1, 1967), was the wife of Karl Koch, the commandant of the concentration camps Buchenwald from 1937 to 1941 and Majdanek from 1941 to 1943.
Ilse is infamous for taking souvenirs from the skin of murdered inmates with distinctive tattoos. Claims that she had a lampshade made out of human skin have never been verified and were discounted at her post-war trial. She was known as "The Witch of Buchenwald" ("Die Hexe von Buchenwald") by the inmates because of her sadistic cruelty and lasciviousness toward prisoners. She is also called in English "The Beast of Buchenwald" and "The Bitch of Buchenwald."

A Zoot Suit is a suit with high-waisted, wide-legged, tight-cuffed pegged trousers and a long coat with wide lapels and wide padded shoulders. This style of clothing was popularized by Hispanics, Italian Americans, African Americans and Filipino Americans during the late 1930s and 1940s.
The Fifth Sun refers to the mythical world-view held by the Aztec people, in which the present world was preceded by four other cycles of creation and destruction.
For Aztec people there had been four worlds, or "Suns" previous to the present universe. These earlier worlds and their inhabitants had been created, then destroyed by the catastrophic action of leadind deity figures. The present world is the fifht sun and tha Aztec saw themselves as "the People of the Sun".

REGARDEZ-LES DÉFILER !

« Regardez-les défiler !» est une de ces chansons de Léo Ferré qui une fois entrée dans une tête a bien du mal à en sortir. C'est une chanson très courte, mais qui marque, marque, marque. Elle dit non pas l'horreur de la guerre, mais la mécanique de la guerre, qui comme une vis sans fin gigantesque entraîne des milliers, des millions d'hommes vers un destin sans avenir, qui comme une presse énorme écrase sans se presser d'abord la main, puis le bras, puis le reste de celui qui y a mis le petit doigt.
Mais c'est aussi et en même temps, une chanson qui appelle à la désertion armée (comme dans L'Internationale : ils sauront bientôt que nos balles sont pour nos propres généraux...), à la révolte, à la révolution... On ne sait jamais pourquoi ces choses-là ne se font pas.

Στο «Μεγάλο μας τσίρκο» ο συγγραφέας Ιάκωβος Καμπανέλλης κατέγραψε όλη την ιστορία της νεότερης Ελλάδας, ενώ ο Σταύρος Ξαρχάκος προσέθεσε τη μελοποίηση και ο Νίκος Ξυλούρης συνέβαλε με τη μοναδική ερμηνεία του.
Το έργο ανέβηκε το 1973 από το θίασο της Τζένης Καρέζη και του Κώστα Καζάκου στο θέατρο «Αθήναιον». Εκτός από τον Νίκο Ξυλούρη, τα τραγούδια του Σταύρου Ξαρχάκου απέδιδαν και τα μέλη του θιάσου.

Si tratta di un brano sull'Eccidio di Sant'Anna di Stazzema, avvenuto il 12 agosto 1944; ma come si puà vedere, specialmente nella sua parte finale, la cosa va ben oltre e si spinge fino ai nostri tempi.

"Fucking USA", often called "Fuck'n USA", is a protest song written by South Korean singer and activist Yoon Min-suk. Strongly anti-US Foreign policy and anti-Bush, the song was written in 2002 at a time when, following the Apolo Ohno Olympic controversy and an incident in which two Korean middle school students were killed under the wheels of a U.S. Army vehicle; anti-American sentiment in Korea reached high levels. Musically it is a parody of "Surfin USA" and though it has a vulgar aspect it is not supposed to be, according to Yoon, just an angsty punk type song but a serious critique of the Bush Administration and US foreign policy in particular in the Korean peninsula, just conveyed in an ironic and jokingly vitriolic way.

Il testo di questa canzone è abbastanza oscuro, ma è più che chiaro l’omaggio a John Lennon in apertura con l’attacco di Imagine e soprattutto nel bridge retto dalla frase “I must start a revolution from my bed”, riferita ai bed-in for peace organizzati da John Lennon e Yoko Ono nel 1969. Sally però non si sa chi cavolo sia…

“Don’t Look Back in Anger” was released as the fourth single off of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, February 19th 1996. In 2006, it was included in the “Best Of”-compilation Stop The Clocks and in 2010 it was included in the singles collection Time Flies… 1994-2009.

Noel Gallagher also admits that he was under the influence of illegal substances when he wrote the song and to this day he claims he does not know what the lyrics mean.
