Sammi Cheng.
Sammi Cheng.

    ROMEO AND JULIET IN SARAJEVO

    Young couple
    With shining eyes
Like a sunny day, detaining summertime
Each smile like sunshine, gentle and nice
The man was tall and young
The girl was petite as the moon
They promised to stay together all their lives
    Despite of the long-lasting war

Different religions on the land of chaos
    Battles to divide various nationals
He and she, never changed their stance
Always, courageously, singing this song of ideal

    Love upon affection
Rely on each other, through bitter and sweet
Love has nothing to do with religion
    Nor with national conflicts
Wish I'd be with you all my life
    Love upon affection
Rely on each other, through bitter and sweet
Love has nothing to do with religion
    Nor fear of firearms
Wish I'd be with you all my life

Yet flames of war blocked the city in siege
    Covering stars and the moon
Take each other's hand under no sunlight
Run away in desperate, hoping to see the bright sun once again
    Powerless couple in war
They both got shot and fell on the ground
She held him in her arms before death
In search of the sun, arm in arm

    Young fair couple
Fell on the ground one day, leaning on each other
Fled from this world filled with ridiculous stances
I heard the wind singing this song once more
