Dee Snider's Standing Rock Music Video "So What"
On the album "We are the ones"

So What

"This music video documents the Dakota Access Pipeline Protest at Standing Rock. While capturing the police brutality and human rights violations against peaceful Water Protectors, the filmmakers were tear gassed, targeted and shot with rubber bullets in an unconstitutional suppression of free press.
Special thanks to The American Indian Movement, Graywolf, Pony, the Indigenous People and Water Protectors everywhere."

End credits:

"On November 20th 2016, a thousand unarmed peaceful Water Protectors were assaulted by police on treaty land. For nine hours, they were attacked with flash bang grenades, tear gas, mace, rubber bullets and water cannons in subfreezing conditions.

Hundreds were treated for hypothermia and other injuries, including 21 year old Sophia Wilankski, whose arm was blown apart by a flash bang grenade.

Despite wearing media badges, Dee Snider's film crew were tear gassed, targeted and shot with rubber bullets, in an unconstitutional suppression of free press.

The next day, police called the peaceful demonstration a "riot", denied the use of water cannons on civilians and claimed Sophia's wounds to be self inflicted.

On December 4th 2016, the US Army Corps of Engineers announced that it rejects the easement to build the Dakota Access Pipeline under Lake Oahe.

In response, Energy Transfer Partners and Sunoco have announced plans to continue the pipeline with no additional rerouting, defying Federal orders."

Il video girato in bianco/nero propone immagini della gente riunita per le proteste pacifiche e della risposta delle forze dell'ordine statunitense in una bellissima fotografia
Caged
Like a bird with a head full of rage
And a soul that don't need to be saved
Not afraid
To be one as we stand on our own as they feed us the pain
It's their game
All the lies that they try to control us, we're not gonna change

Yeah we're strange
Yeah we're strange
Strange
So what?
Middle fingers in the air
Singing "we don't fucking care", when we say
So what?
You play us like we're fools
Need to follow rules, but we say
So what?
We've been taking it too long
And now we are the ones who say
So what?
So what?

Fear
Fear this voice in our brains, say's we're lost, we're insane, but we know we're not gonna change
Yeah we're strange
Yeah we're strange
Strange
So what?
Middle fingers in the air
Singing "we don't fucking care", when we say
So what?
You play us like we're fools
Need to follow rules, but we say
So what?
We've been taking it too long
And now we are the ones who say
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?

Yeah, we know we're just strange
Yeah, we're just strange
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
Middle fingers in the air
Singing "we don't fucking care", when we say
So what?
You play us like we're fools
Need to follow rules, but we say
So what?
We've been taking it too long, and now we are the ones who say
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
Yeah, we're strange
So What?
