Version #1

Irme kero madre a Yerushlayim

MOTHER I WANT TO GO TO JERUSALEM

Mother I want to go to Jerusalem
to eat its fruits, to drink its waters.

I lean onto Him
and in Him I trust
and the Lord of all people.

And I see the Holy Temple in front of me
it looks to me like the crescent moon.

I lean onto Him
and in Him I trust
and the Lord of all people.

And they're forging it with precious stones
and they're cleaning it with precious stones.

I lean onto Him
and in Him I trust
and the Lord of all people.

MADRE, VOGLIO ANDARE A GERUSALEMME

Madre, voglio andare a Gerusalemme
mangiare i suoi frutti, bere le sue acque.

In Lui confido [1]
e in Lui trovo conforto [2]

Mi appare come luna crescente.

In Lui confido
e in Lui trovo conforto
il Signore di tutti i popoli.

E la stanno costruendo [3] con pietre preziose
e la stanno ricamando [4] con pietre preziose.

In Lui confido
e in Lui trovo conforto
il Signore di tutti i popoli.

[1] Arrimar / riposare su, porre le spalle su

[2] Afalagár / consolare, confortare

[3] Fraguár / costruire

[4] Lavrár / ricamare

I WANT TO GO TO JERUSALEM, MOTHER

I want to go to Jerusalem, mother
To step on the ground and cling to it.
I will make a home there
I will belong there.
He is the Lord of the whole world.

Jerusalem, I see it in front of me
I lost my children and my relatives there
I will make a home there
I will belong there.
He is the Lord of the whole world.
