La copertina di questo celebre brano mostra immagini di una manifestazione di protesta avvenuta nel 1979 a Lagos, Nigeria, davanti alla caserma militare di Dodan, al tempo residenza del dittatore di turno, il generale Olusegun Obasanjo (più recentemente, tra il 1999 ed il 2007, presidente democraticamente eletto).



I manifestanti portano una bara che simbolicamente raffigura il feretro della madre di Fela Kuti, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti – classe 1900, insegnante ed attivista per i diritti delle donne – che solo l'anno prima era stata uccisa dai soldati del regime nel corso di un violentissimo raid contro la Kalakuta Republic, il compound del clan Ransome-Kuti, come ritorsione contro le continue provocazioni musicali del grande artista padre dell'afro beat... La grande casa dei Kuti venne bruciata e distrutta e molti membri della famiglia furono feriti, diverse le donne stuprate... La mamma di Fela, 77 anni, venne gettata da una finestra e morì dopo alcune settimane di coma...
