Una canzone dedicata a Cornelius Dupree Jr., un afroamericano di Houston, Texas, che nel 1980 fu condannato a 75 anni di reclusione (un ergastolo, di fatto) per una rapina con stupro commessa l’anno precedente.
Lui professò sempre la sua innocenza.
Poi con il test del DNA si scoprì che non era stato lui per davvero, e allora lo liberarono…
Soltanto una nota di dettaglio: nel frattempo Cornelius Dupree Jr. si era fatto 30 anni di galera!
L’hanno risarcito con 80.000 dollari per ogni anno di prigione, ossia 2.4 milioni, esentasse.
