The Countdown

There's someone pushing a pen
And the ink isn't even dry
Somebody's askin' when
But nobody's askin' why
The Book of Ages is still being written
To make history's glits and glamour
Lives in the thunder, smitten
Pressed and hammered
Till they fall down and cry
Till they lay down and die

The writing's on the wall and yet, the walls fall down
But bridges can be bridged and end the countdown
And end the countdown

Yet someone's writing their name
And the page hasn't ever turned
Somebody's playin' games
But somebody's gettin' burned
The Book of Life has it's beings listed
To trace his story, hers and others
Lives in the weather, twisted
Babes and mothers
Till they fall in distress
Till they take lifeless rest

Till someone taking a pen
And inks words, bans war and defies
Somebody's askin' when
But nobody's askin' why
The Book of Ages is yet being spoken
To make our story's time and pages
Lives don't have to be broken
Torn in rages
Till they raise hands and cry
Till they hold hands and die

The writing's on the wall and yet, the walls fall down
But bridges can be bridged and end the countdown
And end the countdown (repeat to here and finish with line below)
End the countdown
