Bring our soldiers home...
Soldiers walking thrugh the night
Distant shots, they hear the fight
Some are boys, some are men
Some will never come back again
Friendlies flying overhead
Laying down a wall of lead
Cannons tearing up the ground
Slicing through the battle sounds
Do you recognize ?
This is war, and these are lives
Do you comprehend ?
We are the ones, that can make it end.
The radio cracks and cries
A call for fire lights the sky
The septic smell of steel and death
Penetrate the Sergeant's breath
A medic cries and screams aloud
He pounds his fists into the ground
Another tag beneath the tongue
Another war that's never won..
Do you recognize?
This is war, These are lives
Do you comprehend ?
We are the ones, that can make it end.
Bring, bring our soldiers home..
Bring, bring our soldiers home..
Staccato knock upon the door
A baby's spoon hits the floor
A medalled chest to ease the pain
From stinging words that can't explain.
Instantly, her world goes black
She never thought he won't come back
Another child that's never known
Another angel coming home..
Do you recognize ?
This is war, These are lives
Do you comprehend ?
We are the ones, that can make it end
Bring.. bring our soldiers home,
Bring, bring our soldiers home..
Bring, bring our soldiers home,
Bring, bring our soldiers home..
Soldiers walking thrugh the night

Lyrics & Music by Steven P. Richards
"I wrote this song because, in my opinion, I feel that our exposure to the War in Iraq has been very "sanitized", and has in turn kept us distanced from the daily horrors that our soldiers face. I think that this is calculated to keep us from asking questions about why we are there and why aren't we working toward an exit strategy. As an army veteran (of the Panamanian Invasion and Desert Storm), I know that the soldiers in Iraqi and their families are enduring tremendous hardships. And ultimately, I would love it if this song could, if even slightly, help speed the process of getting them safely home for good".
