"Homeland Security was one of about a dozen songs I wrote in 2002/3, having to do with aspects of American culture I found disturbing. They became my first CD, Bigger is Better. Other songs on the disc take on corporate greed, fast food, SUVs, religious intolerance and the pharmaceutical industry." - Dan Reich
Chorus:
Homeland Security
They got a file on you and me
Who you are and where you've been
They're gonna know if you go there again

Why do they need to collect all the data
Of every man, every woman and child
Just in case they belong to Al-Qaeda
Gonna take them a mighty long while

Chorus

Drop a rat at the entrance to a maze
And put the food where you think it's hidden
A crafty rat isn't gonna be fazed
And we got problems who're you kidding?

Chorus

With due respect, sir, your quest for abatement
As well-intended as I think it is
You'll find no bombs on my Visa statement
And where I shop is none of your business

Chorus
