My name is Harry, Dick or Tom.
Somebody put me in control of the Bomb.
I just sit by the phone and wait for the call
So I can press the button and blow us all
To Kingdom Come.
Oh bury me in six feet of lead.
I may be cold but I won't be dead.
I'll be radiating poison into the atmosphere,
Killing every living thing -
In the northern hemisphere.
I didn't mind about the millions dead.
I was more concerned about my standard of living
But when the TV packed in and the lights went dead,
I began to get - some misgivings.
There's something nice about a mushroom cloud.
Especially when you're tired of being one of the crowd
No more football fans. No more shopping queues.
It's back to nature - for the lucky few.
But where is nature? It can't be found.
When everybody left is living underground.
Waiting for the fall-out to fall on them
Waiting for the credits and the caption saying "The End".
I didn't mind about the millions dead.
I was more concerned about my standard of living
But when the TV packed in and the lights went dead,
I began to get - some misgivings.
Somebody put me in control of the Bomb.
