“Do you know Letters Of Note? It’s a wonderful, fantastic, fascinating website of letters that people have written to each other. I saw this letter on there which was written by one soldier to another soldier on the anniversary of his death. These two soldiers were lovers in the Second World War, and tragically one of them dies. It was such a beautiful letter, so visual, so moving. That’s what inspired Clay.”
