Proseguendo con questo mio 28 ottobre del tutto particolare, ecco un'altra famosissima canzone sui Σαλταδόροι; anzi, praticamente il loro "inno". Non è un caso che la abbia scritta Mihalis Genitsaris (il suo cognome è scritto generalmente Γενίτσαρης, ma l'ortografia da lui usata era Γεννήτσαρης che ha comunque la stessa pronuncia; il cognome è comunque il turco Yeni ceri, ovvero il "giannizzero"). Oggi 28 ottobre è non soltanto l'anniversario della "Marcia su Roma", con cui un romagnolo traditore e fanfarone era andato al potere grazie all'aiuto decisivo degli agrari, della borghesia industriale e di Casa Savoia; prima di trascinare l'Italia intera nella rovina, tra le ultime tragiche fanfaronate di quell'individuo ci fu l'aggressione alla Grecia, cui avremmo dovuto "spezzare le reni". Wedding Album was no-show in the British charts, but managed to peak at No. 178 in the United States. The album was available on vinyl, cassette tape and 8-track tape, each with the same deluxe packaging. It was also advertised through magazine print advertisements, which Lennon and Ono's previous two albums had not.
When Wedding Album was released, at least one music press reviewer was led to believe that the album was more experimental than it actually was. Richard Williams, who had been given two single-sided test pressings for his Melody Maker review, each with a blank side featuring only an engineer's test signal, took it to be a double album. Reviewing it as such, he noted that sides two and four consisted entirely "of single tones maintained throughout, presumably produced electronically". George Harrison la scrisse in un giorno di sconforto, quando si accorse di farsi un po’ schifo ad essere diventato un uomo d’affari tutto intento, come gli altri Beatles, a firmare contratti ed ingaggi a tutto spiano per la loro giovane etichetta Apple Records. Così si rifugiò da Eric Clapton e nel giardino di casa sua, con una delle sue chitarre acustiche, fece un po’ di training autogeno e compose «Ecco che spunta il sole»

Ecco, questa canzone - bellissima anche nella versione di Nina Simone - la trovo così ariosa e liberatoria e mi infonde sempre buon umore e pace a tal punto che mi è venuta voglia di proporla.

E non è certo un caso se nel 1977 l’astrofisico americano Carl Sagan volle fortissimamente che «Here Comes The Sun» fosse inclusa nel «Voyager... (continua)

The story of Leonard Peltier as described in the book "In the Spirit of Crazy Horse" was the inspiration for the Toad song Crazy Life. There are many disagreements and strong feelings on all sides about the shootout at Jumping Bull Ranch on June 6, 1975.
Leonard Peltier is an imprisoned Native American considered by Amnesty International, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, National Congress of American Indians, the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Human Rights, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Rev. Jesse Jackson, among many others, to be a political prisoner who should be immediately released.

Leonard Peltier was convicted for the deaths of two FBI agents who died during a 1975 shoot-out on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Leonard Peltier has been in prison for over 29 years.
