I thought at first about translating the parts in broken French into sort of Gallicized lingo, translating into English only the parts in correct French and, obviously, those in Sicilian. This would result, however, in something really awkward. So, I decided to translate the whole lyrics into standard English. Rather obviously, such a translation cannot reproduce the special flavour of the original; I think this could be only made by translating it into French.

Canzone ispirata alle proteste seguite all'omicidio del diciottenne nero Michael Brown, avvenuto il 9 agosto 2014 a Ferguson, Missouri, ad opera dell'agente di polizia Darren Wilson, un bianco. Sulle prime la corte di Saint Louis decise di non incriminare nemmeno l'assassino, facendo ricorso ad una procedura molto sommaria, irrituale, che scatenò la rabbia della comunità nera. Alle proteste lo Stato oppose non solo la polizia in assetto antisommossa ma addirittura squadre speciali SWAT pesantemente armate, militarizzando la città e dichiarando il coprifuoco.
Poi l'inchiesta fu avocata dalle autorità federali, le quali comunque sentenziarono che Wilson aveva agito per legittima difesa.
Curiosamente però la città di Ferguson ha accettato di pagare un risarcimento di 1,5 milioni di dollari alla famiglia di Brown...

Un brano southern rock sicuramente antimilitarista ma in chiave antifederale, con esplicito invito a non pagare le tasse perchè contribuiscono a finanziare le guerre degli USA... Chissà se veniva prima il tipico sentimento antigovernativo sudista od un autentico spirito pacifista?!?

"Heaven" is not quite what it seems. Despite its title, this song from the 1984 album Mirror Moves is far from a testament of faith. The gravity of its lyrics is lightened by an addictive beat that drew throngs of fans onto the dance floor whenever it played. Tim Butler, the band's co-founder and bassist, told us the meaning of "Heaven": "It's about planes flying over ready to drop bombs, nuclear bombs: 'And I'm standing on ice when I say that I don't hear planes.' It's sort of strange that people would dance to it and stuff with a happy vibe, when it's quite a heavy song." (Songfacts)

"Fransmännen betraktar Korsika som en sommarinvestering - en plats där man kan rumla och bära sej åt hur som helst under semestern. Man vill ha ren luft och rent vatten i havet, alltså byggs inga industrier - därav en massarbetslöshet på ön. Fransmännen tar t.o.m. med sej hotell- och restaurangpersonal från fastlandet, samt egna staber att sköta tennisbanorna och campingplatserna. När säsongen är över försvinner såväl folk som pengar, och korsikanerna får hanka sej fram best de kan till nästa sommar. Dette har lett till etablerandet av den militära motståndsrörelsen FNLC, som under vinterhalvåret spränger franska semesteranläggningar, restauranger och resbyråer i luften. När jag upptäckte dessa missförhållanden gav texten sej själv"
