The Enemy Inside, tratto dall'ultimo album Dream Theater dei Dream Theater, è un brano metal caratterizzato da un ritmo sostenuto, veloce, energetico e tecnico. A detta del cantante James LaBrie, il testo di The Enemy Inside "è relativo allo stress post-traumatico, di come le persone si occupano degli avvenimenti raccapriccianti accaduti durante le loro vite o di qualcosa realmente stridente a cui esso sono realmente collegati come esseri umani".
Il videoclip è stato pubblicato il 23 settembre ed è basato su migliaia di storie accadute realmente. Il protagonista del video (il quale rispecchia in parte lo stesso personaggio descritto nel testo della canzone) è un uomo che in passato è stato un soldato al servizio degli Stati Uniti e durante i momenti quotidiani viene perseguitato in modo continuo dai vari ricordi di guerra, senza poter avere alcuna via di scampo.

In composing "On the Backs of Angels" Dream Theater tried to illustrate their signature sound.. From the start, the band envisioned the song as an album opener that, according to John Petrucci, would make their fans "feel at home".
"On the Backs of Angels" is 8:43 long with numerous time signature changes, although it is mostly played in 4/4 and 3/4 time. The song's introduction features a moody and foreboding arpeggiated guitar pattern that was written by Petrucci and inspired by Pink Floyd. At 5:51, the song breaks down into a piano passage that was improvised by keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
On November 30, 2011 it was announced that "On the Backs of Angels" has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" category, the first Dream Theater song ever to do so..

Quando ho notato che avete creato un nuovo percorso dedicato alla violenza sui bambini mi è subito venuta in mente questa amara e intensissima canzone, una delle mie preferite dei Dream Theater, tratta dall'album "Falling into infinity" (1997).

"Prophets of War" was written by James LaBrie, who based the lyrics loosely on Joseph C. Wilson's book, "The Politics of Truth".
The lyrics talk about possible ulterior motives behind the Iraq War, while remaining "middle of the road".
The title is a play on words, where the "prophets" of the war, could also be gaining a "profit" from the War. During the recording of the song, Portnoy suggested fans could voice certain lyrical chants. In response to a message posted on the band's website four hundred fans gathered outside the recording studio to record the chanting, however only sixty could fit into the studio.
