| |
Now let's get the kids and pack up the car | Ora prendiamo i ragazzi e carichiamo la macchina, |
Take that vacation we've been waiting for | pigliamoci 'sta vacanza che abbiamo tanto aspettata, |
Drive across this country leave our worries far behind | giriamo per questo paese lasciandoci i problemi alle spalle |
Singin' four-part harmony to "Sweet Adeline" | cantando a quattro "Sweet Adeline" |
| |
`Cause I got these books and maps from triple "A" | È per questo che ho comprato 'sti libri e 'ste mappe strabelle |
We'll visit friends and sites along the way | visiteremo amici e posti per la strada, |
So bring the bikes and toys and diapers | su, porta le bici, i giocattoli e i pannolini, |
Pay the neighbor's son | paga il figlio del vicino, |
And call to stop the mail and, honey, | fai il fermoposta e, amore, |
Don't forget the guns | non ti scordare le armi |
| |
Now don't forget the guns you know exactly what I mean | Sì, non ti scordare le armi, sai benissimo cosa voglio dire |
Bring the pistols, bring the uzi and the old AR-15 | porta le pistole, porta lo Uzi e il vecchio AR-15 |
We don't look for trouble but by golly if we're in it | non cerchiamo casini ma cavolo se ci siamo dentro |
It's nice to know we're free to blow nine hundred rounds a minute | è bello sapere che possiamo sparare novecento colpi al minuto |
| |
We'll head for Chicago, stop for the night | Ce ne andremo verso Chicago e ci fermeremo là per la notte, |
Hope for good weather hope the kids don't fight | speriamo di avere bel tempo e che i ragazzi non si accapiglino |
They've never seen mt. Rushmore and they ought to understand | non hanno mai visto il monte Rushmore* e dovrebbero capire |
The kind of men who forged our freedom all across this land | che razza di uomini hanno forgiato la nostra libertà in questo paese |
| |
We'll hike up a trail and ride down a street | Ci faremo una camminata per un sentiero e uno struscio per una strada |
Stand by Old Faithful and watch her blow off steam | staremo davanti all'Old Faithful** guardandolo sbuffare vapore |
When we pack picnic lunches that's not all we'll bring along | quando facciamo i cestini da picnic, beh, non solo quelli ci porteremo |
`Cause we'll be packing 45's case anything goes wrong | perché ci prepariamo anche le 45 seccaso qualcosa vada storto |
| |
| |
Oh riding along we'll follow the sights | Oh, andando in giro seguiremo le belle vedute |
Over the mountains under the pines | sulle montagne e sotto i pini |
Up to boot hill where they got what they gave | fino alla collina degli stivali***, dove quelli ebbero il loro, |
In the land of the free you've got to be brave. | nella terra della libertà devi essere coraggioso. |
