wedontneedanotherhero"We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)" was the hit theme song to the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, the song was performed by Tina Turner, who also played the role of Aunty Entity in the movie, and produced by Terry Britten. It was released at the peak of Tina Turner's musical career, during her Private Dancer era. The song's lyrical content and theme is mostly a statement of anti-war and anti-violence. There are two versions of the song, the movie version, and the radio version. The version played during the film differs from the radio version. To date, the film version has not been released. The song received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song in 1986 and a 1986 Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The video is generally considered to be one of Tina Turner's best, and remains one of her most well-known and recognizable music videos. The video features Tina Turner dressed as Aunt Entity on top of a lit-circular platform. She proceeds to sing atop the platform while various scenes from the movie are shown. In the last part of the song, saxophonist Tim Capello and a children's choir accompany Tina. The music video received an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Female Video.

Turner was backed by a choral group from Kings House School in Richmond, London. In an interesting postscript to the story of this song, the Musicians' Union realized in October 2005 that none of the 21 choir members who sang on the track had been paid royalties for their appearance on the record. One of the choir members who appeared on the record, Lawrence Dallaglio, became famous in a totally different field as a rugby union star and captain of the England national team.

In 1998 the Croatian group Vatrogasci (Firefighters) made a cover of this song in gipsy life thematic, translating it in croatian language (naming it "Daj još jednu") and making it in tamburica/folk music arrangement.

A cover version of the song was released in 2007 (as a single from their upcoming debut album Reborn) by Northern Kings, a Finnish heavy metal vocalist supergroup featuring Marco Hietala, Tony Kakko, Jarkko Ahola and J-P Leppäluoto.

"Weird Al" Yankovic parodied the song as "We Won't Eat Another Hero", but this parody has not been released. It was performed a few times in concert, though.
Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
We are the children
The last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And i wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

Looking for something we can rely on
There's got to be something better out there
Love and compassion, their day is coming
All else are castles built in the air
And i wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains
All the children say

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

What do we do with our lives
We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a life
Or end in the dark
Give it all or nothing

NON CI SERVE UN ALTRO EROE

Fuori dalle rovine
Fuori dalle macerie
Non faremo il medesimo errore ora
Siamo i bambini
L’ultima generazione
Siamo quelli lasciati abbandonati

Amore e compassione, quel giorno sta arrivando
Compresi i castelli in aria

Avremo tutto o niente
