Album: Al Mukawama (2003)
Parole convincenti, parole penetranti,
e pugni e sputi e schiaffi, parole… parole a ricordare,

I WILL CARRY MY BUCKET OF WATER FOR THE FLOWERS OF FILASTIN
Tre quatt’ migliara ‘e civili innocenti e sotto a mille creature
Contro o’ terrorismo ‘e Israele, contro e’ surdate, contro ‘e colonie
A’ Paura d’Israele nuje forse nunn’a capimmo, ma poiché nun simmo sciemi ‘a contestualizzammo e nà cosa ‘a capimmo,
capimmo ca n’ommo trattato trent’anni comm’ a n’animale
addiventa nà bestia affamata, impaurita e pertanto feroce e chiena ‘e cazzimma, è normale, è naturale…
E chiù ‘a bestia è feroce, chiù ‘a bestia è o’ padrone
‘ a bestia chiù bestia è sempre ‘o padrone

FLOWERS OF FILASTIN
I’m trying to find the words, I need words
Convincing words, penetrating words
that bore a hole in your head and leave slivers everywhere
shreds of misery
patches of fear
shreds of dreams and scraps of culture
Words like a barrage of machine-gun fire in a market
Or like missiles fired from the third floor of a building
That have to hurt a lot, man
Words so powerful to shut up all the western world
Just for a moment, just to try to listen to
The helplessness, the resentment..
Words to harm, beaten in the face like stock rifles
And punches, spits and slaps, words..
Words to remember, not to forget that the State of Israel occupied Palestine, through war, thirty-five years ago and they don’t want to leave and the Greater Israel is already named Filastin
And 200’000 of them had no right to settle
But what “equidistance”! Here
partisan words, ambushing tanks running after ambulances.
Words to try to stop the slaughter, aware that some anti-tank missiles would have a bigger effect and that basically these are just words while in Filastin they fight and die nurturing the hope to see a flower arise…
FILASTIN FILASTIN FILASTIN FILASTIN
I WILL CARRY MY BUCKET OF WATER FOR THE FLOWERS OF FILASTIN
FILASTIN FILASTIN FILASTIN FILASTIN
I WILL CARRY MY BUCKET OF WATER FOR THE FLOWERS OF FILASTIN
Three or four thousand innocent civilians under thousands of children massacred without any reason by Israeli soldiers in the occupied territories
They tore down six hundred buildings and deported two thousand people
During fifteen years of what they call “The war on Terror”
And the other side is called Intifada and means “people’s uprising”
against Israeli Terrorism, against the soldiers, against the colonies
that for more than thirty years have been humiliating the people preventing the free movement
after they stole the land, the will to live, the work and the love and then..
maybe we don’t understand the fear of Israel but since we are not fool, we will put it into context and one thing we understand:
we understand that a man treated like an animal for 30 years, turns into a hungry beast, frightened, therefore ferocious, ruthless. It’s normal, it’s natural
And the fiercer the beast is, the more the beast is a master
The worst beast is always the master
The beast is the empire becoming the rule
Death to the beast! Long live Palestine!
