I thought they were just afraid

The clothes we wore were different
our hair was much too long
Our music pushed the boundaries
and often we were wrong ..

We shouted of injustice
waved it like a flag
We tore it and we trampled it

We tore down religion
attacked the status quo
Put morality in a box
and tied it with a bow

and criticized the war

as if we didn’t know the score
