Spent some time in stormy weather
Under clouds of my dilemma
Now there's nothing much to do
But sit and rot in front of televisions
Staring back at me
I'm just waiting for the microwaves
To wash me into the sea
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they... [1]
Out of focus ideology
Keep the masses from majority
Head space brainwashed, tumble dried
Left to bleed whilst vultures glide
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
You know they...

[1] This line is, of course, sampled from ‘Show Biz Kids’ by Steely Dan.
In the original, “they” are vapid celebrity offspring entirely fascinated with themselves (“show biz kids making movies of themselves, you know they don’t give a fuck about anybody else”). In the Super Furry Animals version, however, “they” are almost definitely government ministers and the ruling classes generally (“the man”).

album: Out Spaced (1998)
The song, released twice as a single with the latter containing the most 'f'-words in any song ever, is based around a sample from the Steely Dan song, 'Show Biz Kids', and has been a regular set-closer for the band. Gruff Rhys, the lead singer, has described the song as a "protest song for our time", which can be used against "any organization which you feel is terrorising you as an individual, anyone who's cramping your style".
