1994

In "1994," Bob leaves his liberal (New Age) wife to take up with a conservative Sunday School teacher who tries to justify their relationship through Biblical scripture. The heat gets turned up when she encourages Bob to sue for custody of his 10-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, Bob's mother, Maureen, falls in love again after being a widow for 12 years; and Bob's sister must cope with the terminal illness of her husband.

Satiric song from "1994" the Musical, sung by the conservative couple Bob and Christine on the 4th of July.

Megan Batchelder, soprano.
Clark Ford, tenor.
Music and lyrics by Clark Ford.
Well I'm proud of my country, I'm a patriot.
Yeah, I'm proud of my country and all the freedoms we've got.
Political dissidents don't have a grievance,
this is America, love it or leave it!
Yeah, I'm proud of my country, I'm a patriot.
Well I'm an NRA member, and a Republican.
Yeah I'm an NRA member, you bet I carry a gun.
Who else would protect me and my virtue too?
Guns don't kill people, people do!
Yeah I'm an NRA member, and a Republican.
Well I'm a Born Again Christian, and I lean to the Right.
Yeah I'm a Born Again Christian, puttin' up the good fight.
Let's get evolution out of our schools,
bring back prayer and majority rule.
Yeah I'm a Born Again Christian and I lean to the Right.
Well I'm a social conservative, and we should follow God's plan.
Yeah I'm a social conservative, I defer to my man.
Abortion and gay marriage are abominations,
women don't need equal rights they need more changing stations.
Yeah I 'm a social conservative and I lean to the right.
Well this country's in trouble, I've got the Red White and Blues.
Yeah this country's in trouble I've got the Red White and Blues. Ohhh...
