Come Zor And Zam dei Monkees, una canzone ispirata ad un celebre passo da “The People, Yes”, poema ‎scritto da Carl Sandburg nel 1936:‎

The little girl saw her first troop parade and asked, “What are those?”
‎“Soldiers.”
‎“What are soldiers?”
‎“They are for war. They fight and each tries to kill as many of the other side as he can.”
The girl held still and studied.
‎“Do you know…I know something?”
‎“Yes, what is it you know?”
‎“Sometime they’ll give a war and nobody will come.”

L’innocente e rivoluzionaria considerazione della bimba portata ad assistere alla sua prima parata ‎militare venne adottato come slogan dal movimento contro la guerra in Vietnam.‎
This is an African tribal chant that we wrote called
‎'Suppose they give a war and no one comes'‎

I hate war, I have seen war, I have seen war on the land and the sea
I have seen blood running in the street, I have seen small children, starving
I have seen the agony of fellows and wives, I HATE WAR

Hear the marching, hear the drums, suppose they give a war and no one comes
Hear the marching, hear the drums, suppose they give a war and no one comes
Hear the marching, hear the drums, suppose they give a war and no one comes
