Verso la fine del settembre 2014 il pastore protestante Zafar Bhatti era stato al centro di un piccolo “giallo” quando si diffuse la notizia (dell’agenzia Fides) che era stato assassinato da un poliziotto. L’ uomo, arrestato per blasfemia, si trovava in prigione. Con lui, sempre secondo l’agenzia Fides, sarebbe stato ucciso anche Muhammad Asghar, in carcere per la stessa ragione. Bhatti era accusato di aver inviato SMS blasfemi, ma per il suo avvocato, così come per i famigliari, qualcuno gli aveva teso una trappola per incastrarlo.
