Airdí Cuan è una nostalgica canzone in gaelico-irlandese di Seán
Mac Ambróis emigrante in Scozia. Vari l'hanno incisa ma il primo fu il diciassettenne bretone Alan Cochevelou (Stivell) nel 1961. Preferisco però attribuirla agli irlandesi Skara Brae (1971) come segno di ammirazione, in quanto nel loro primo e unico disco registrato nel 1970 si coglievano già accenni alle armonie vocali sviluppate qualche anno dopo dai Clannad e nell’intreccio di chitarre (compresa l'elettrica in "Angela") suggestioni di Renbourn/Jansch. Mica bruscolini!

An Canónach Charles O’Neill as Contae an Dúin a scríobh na bunliricí i mBéarla.
Ba é an t-údar iomráiteach as Rann na Feirste i nGaeltacht Thír Chonaill, Séamas Ó Grianna, a d’aistrigh go Gaeilge é. ‘An Drúcht Geal Ceo’ an teideal a thug ‘Máire’, ainm cleite Uí Ghrianna, ar an amhrán.
The Foggy Dew, or in Irish, An Drúcht Geal Ceo, is a lively and lively ballad, a powerful and historical song about the 1916 Rising.
Canon Charles O'Neill of County Down wrote the original lyrics in English.
It was the famous author of Rann na Feirste in Tír Conaill Gaeltacht, Séamas Ó Grianna, who translated it into Irish. 'An Drúcht Geal Ceo' was the title given by 'Máire', Uí Grianna's pseudonym, to the song.

Fino a poco tempo, non esisteva una traduzione irlandese completa di "The Red Flag", la canzone socialista più conosciuta qui e in Gran Bretagna.
