I chose A Hard Rain because it is one of his most beautiful songs. It combines his Rimbaudian mastery of language with a deep understanding of the causes of suffering and ultimately human resilience.

The Times They Are A-Changin'
Profetica.

Referring to Stanisław Barańczak's Polish translation of this song above, I just want to say that there shouldn't be any objections whatsoever to Bob Dylan's receiving the Nobel Prize for literature, because he of all the great songwriters in this world has deserved it and because his genre of literary art has deserved it, and hey, I think that we, all of us people who contribute to this webpage and similar ones, also deserve it at least to a to a tiny little extent. Therefore, it would be a huge disappointment if Dylan refused to accept this acknowledgement as the rumor is.
Juha Rämö 2016/11/2 - 14:12
Dear Juha, according to an interview to the Telegraph
So I guess that Dylan will accept the prize and will show up at the ceremony.
Dylan is planning to turn up to the awards ceremony in Stockholm. “Absolutely,” he says. “If it’s at all possible.”
And as he talks, he starts to sound pretty pleased about becoming a Nobel laureate. “It’s hard to believe,” he muses.

NEERLANDESE / DUTCH [2 - Erik Bindervoet / Robbert-Jan Henkes]

AFRIKAANS [2 - Floris Groenewald / Kabaal klankbaan]
"Kabaal klankbaan is Gauteng-based musician Floris Groenewald’s folk-rock music project. “It’s not a stage name,” says Floris, “but a band, of which I’m the only permanent member.” They play acoustic, alternative folk-rock, which varies from indie-pop songs, folky dystopian love songs, bluesy rock & roll, to songs about robots and video games.
Most live performances consist of one guy with an acoustic guitar, harmonica, and stompbox, rocking and rolling and folking in an attempt to ignore genre limitations. His next show might be Afrikaans, English, bilingual, folky, rocky, accompanied or solo. In 2015 Kabaal klankbaan performed several times as a duo, joined by saxophinist Andre van Coller.

Let Me Die In My Footsteps

Among the reasons given by past laureates for failing to travel to Stockholm to accept the award: being gravely ill and in a wheelchair (Harold Pinter, 2005); being so anxious and agoraphobic that you are “not suited as a person to be dragged into public” (Elfriede... (Continues)

Grazie Bob. E se Bernart Bartleby ti vuole pigliare a cazzotti, ti difendo io!
W i' premionòbel!!

Bravo Riccardo!

(Continues)

My heartiest congratulations to Mr. Zimmerman for the Nobel Prize. This song is one of the many by him that undoubtedly justifies the decision of the Swedish Academy.
