Ovviamente non ci si può aspettare da un simile soggetto quella poeticità e quella profondità di vedute del neo Premio Nòbe' pe' la letteratura, però le domande che egli si pone sono squisitamente pratiche e, oserei dire, attuali. “Let Me Die in My Footsteps” letteralmente “Lasciate che io muoia sulle mie impronte” è il titolo di una delle tante canzoni di Bob Dylan sull’argomento Guerra, scritta nel febbraio del 1962, ma è ancora attuale.
Nel 62 siamo in epoca di guerra fredda e gli USA vivono nel terrore di un attacco missilistico nucleare da parte della Unione Sovietica o della Cina.

“Altri impegni”: Bob Dylan non smentisce la sua fama eccentrica e dunque non sarà presente alla cerimonia di consegna del premio Nobel che si terrà a Stoccolma il prossimo 10 dicembre.
L’Accademia spiega di aver ricevuto una lettera dal musicista: “Avrebbe voluto ricevere il premio di persona ma altri impegni rendono la cosa sfortunatamente impossibile. Dylan ha voluto sottolineare – spiega un comunicato dell’Accademia stessa – di sentirsi estremamente onorato per questo premio Nobel”.
