Il ponte di Arta esiste sul serio: è un antico ponte in pietra che attraversa il fiume Arachthos nelle vicinanze di Arta, nell'Epiro in Grecia. Arta è ora una città di circa 44.000 abitanti, e sul fiume Arachthos passa anche un moderno ponte riservato al normale traffico; quello vecchio è rimasto un po' più in là, tra i monumenti di questa città le cui origini si perdono nella notte dei tempi. Ha una storia, Arta, che risale al Paleolitico; il primo insediamento nell'area della città moderna risale però sicuramente al IX secolo a.C. Con il nome di Ambracia, la città di Arta fu fondata dai Corinzi nel VII secolo a.C. Nel 295 a.C. Presented on Intruders as a coda to provide a positive ending to the album, "All That is Different" was one of two songs originally written for Chris Foster's A Sting in the Tale stage show. Based on a line from William Blake's book, America A Prophesy, the song looks at the world of the future and revolves around a question: does it have to be that way? (Leon set more of Blake's lines to music in the 1960s - the poem, "The Garden of Love" - later recording it for Love Loneliness Laundry (1977).

This song was recorded separately from the rest of the album, with Leon not present (it features just Chris Foster and Sianed Jones). We might therefore speculate that it was originally intended for release as a Chris Foster recording, for whom it was originally written (No Chris Foster release is known to this reviewer).

È una poesia dal volume Fertsik yor lider un poemen / Quarant’anni di lider e poesie del poeta bielorusso ebreo Zalman Schneour, pubblicata a Vilna nel 1906.

Nei primi anni del Novecento Vilna fu uno dei centri propulsori della cultura yiddish. Su circa 180.000 abitanti 75.000 erano ebrei, 60.000 polacchi, 35.000 russi, 8.000 bielorussi e appena 4.000 lituani. La tolleranza a Vilnius era la regola, un retaggio della Repubblica polacco-lituana cessata un secolo prima. La rivoluzione del 1905 in Russia ebbe effetti positivi per il governatorato lituano. Con la I guerra mondiale la situazione precipitò: la Lituania subì le mire espansioniste di tedeschi, polacchi e russi con effetti devastanti.

This song isn’t the first time that Sevdaliza has used music as a way to convey her message and opinions on cultural tensions between the United States and the Middle Eastern world— releasing the Persian-language single “Bebin” in 2017, as a response to President Donald Trump’s Muslim-directed travel ban, which included Iran among other countries.

Sevdaliza was born in Tehran, Iran and soon after relocated to the Netherlands where she grew up. However, her Iranian past and culture have still held a prominent presence in her music sonically and lyrically.

Sotto il ponte alla Carraia, che è nel centro storico di Firenze, non ci passano né il Piave (quello che mormorava il 24 maggio 1915) né il Tagliamento; ci passa l'Arno, fin dal 1218 quando fu costruito per la prima volta sotto il nome di "Ponte Nuovo", perché fu il secondo ponte ad esser costruito sull'Arno a Firenze dopo il vecchio ponte romano. L'Arno, quindi, ci passava anche negli anni della “Grande Guerra”, vale a dire il periodo a cui deve risalire questa semplice strofa nella quale una donna fiorentina, una moglie, si rivolge al marito al fronte. Non si sa su quale musica fosse intonata, e nemmeno se una musica ce l'avesse per davvero. E' una strofa d'amore, ma estremamente pratica: nessuno sdilinquimento, nessun “soldato innamorato”, ma una dichiarazione di soccorso, di aiuto, di una moglie al marito.
