The song La La La was taken to Eurovision by Maciel, a Mexican/Spanish singer representing Spain. The song was composed by Duo Dinamico and Joan Manuel Serrat was supposed to sing it. However, he wanted to do it in Catalan and ended up being replaced. The song won the Eurovision and was indeed well know, but it was not Portuguese, although there is a version in Portuguese.
