Il pezzo è tratto dall'album AP2P (All power to the people), collaborazione tra i rapper M1 (Dead Prez) e Bonnot.

In questa canzone sentiamo anche Militant A (Assalti Frontali) e Talib Kweli (del cui contributo non ho trovato trascrizione, e la mia conoscenza dell'american english in versione rap, ha, come dire, delle lacune. Evidentemente non sono il solo.)

Lo inserisco come autore a parte, che mi sembra la cosa più sensata.

"Potete prendervi il falafel e l'hummus, ma cazzo non toccate la mia kefiah", scrive la rapper anglo-palestinese Shadia Mansour dal palco di New York introducendo la sua canzone “El Kofeyye 3arabeyye” (La Kefiah è araba), scritta quando ha scoperto che un'azienda americana aveva creato una versione blu e bianca della kefiah araba con disegnate le stelle di Davide.

Il testo cita la famosa Carta d'identità di Mahmud Darwish (Ricordate! / Sono un arabo...).

Canzone liberamente ispirata alla Fattoria degli animali di George Orwell

It's definitely based on Orwell's "Animal Farm." The names are changed: Mr. Jones becomes Old Man Sammy (both are common names), Napoleon becomes Hannibal (both great historical conquerors). I think while the song doesn't echo the anti-communist tones of the book, it highlights the fact that those in power will try to attain more and more power. It's the animal inside of us that wants dominance.

C’è un po’ di dietrologia e complottismo in questa canzone (vedi soprattutto che Bob Marley ‎sarebbe stato ucciso e così pure Ron Brown, il primo afroamericano a diventare ministro del ‎commercio del governo federale, perito in un incidente aereo nel 1996) ma per il resto affronta a ‎‎360° il tema del controllo e della repressione nella società americana.‎
Il brano si conclude con la citazione di un discorso di Huey P. Newton, fondatore delle Black ‎Panthers, ucciso da uno spacciatore nel 1989.‎
