Just Before The Battle, Mother

Let America Be America Again
[1938]
Voce solista: Lawrence E. Burnett.

The Priests Of The Golden Bull
[1990]
Album: Coincidence and Likely Stories [1992]
If you prick us, do we not bleed?..
If you poison us, do we not die?
Shylock in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice (III.i.56-57)
The journalist Peter Eichstaedt - in his meticulously researched book (1), relates another tragic chapter in the history of genocide intrinsic to the colonization and "development" of the Americas. He introduces his work with the explanation that it tells the story of ''the sacrifice of lives, families, and land" that the Dine (Navajo), Laguna Pueblo, and other Aboriginal nations of the U.S. southwest have made in the interest of "America's quest for nuclear superiority." He recounts the terrible toll of
death, disease and cultural dislocation that have resulted from the development of large-scale uranium mining on the Colorado Plateau. Sacrifice continues because, Eichstaedt's work traces uranium mining and... (continuer)

Kabul
"Kabul", an Italian song by Flavio Oreglio and Dario Canossi dedicated to Malalai Joya (with English subtitles)
To Malalai Joya,
We wrote the song Kabul after reading by chance an article talking about you. We took interest in your story and searched news concerning you in internet. In every line we read, we found in you the only real novelty in the new story of Afghanistan, the only sign of a possible change, the only path leading out of the dark ages.
Your bravery in facing openly power, of the Taliban and of those who sat next to you in the Loya Jirga, has filled our hearts.
The price you are now paying deserves more than a song but this is the only way we have to make people know your dreams and your story. If this may help you, you must know that we are standing by you.

Zolletta (Lettera a Enzo G. Baldoni)
Una lapide a forma di balena
l'ultimo saluto a Enzo Baldoni
Fonte:la Repubblica.it

Sharing the concert stage at Dine' College with Trudell, Buffy said she and Trudell were "just puppies," during the takeover of Alcatraz in the 1960s. Yet, they kept struggling; kept surviving.
"We just kept chugging on. We kept coming to Indian country. We didn't worry about the fortune and fame because we went with our sincerity, our hearts, and with our friends."

The Lynching
[1922]
If We Must Die

[1976]
Album “Dentro e fuori”

(continuer)
